2019 Acura RDX Advance SH-AWD Review: America's Best-Selling Compact Luxury SUV, One Month In - The Drive
Latest reviews :
In June, its opening month in showrooms, the new RDX outsold every compact luxury SUV in America, its 7,292 sales smoking even the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, with its 6,608 units moved. The RDX also enjoyed the best sales month of any Acura SUV in history, and the most buyers for any Acura model since the TL sedan in April 2006.

Another news, 8 Great Traits of the 2019 Acura RDX... and a Fatal Flaw - NY Daily News
How is it a fatal flaw if the RDX is offered with only 1 engine selection ? SMH
At least the reviewers does not put the True Touchpad Interface as the fatal flaw

Here is a flip book from CD
for those that are cross shopping XC60, Q5, GLC, and X3, RDX ranked only ahead of XC60.
enjoy!

C&D has long been my go-to place for accurate testing...this time I think the rankings were premature considering it was done before actual testing ("first drive" only).
I think their actual comparison test (usually extensive and with comparable models) will move RDX to top/near top ranking.
This ranking included all versions of the catagory...MB for example had four entries. If you exclude the high performance variations, and focus on those levels that would most likely compete with the RDX (4T's), rankings change considerably:
1. Macan (actual ranking 1 and 3) - Yes it's best, but at HUGE price premium).
2. F-Pace (actual ranking 7 and 10) - Unknown resale and reliability.
3. X-3 (actual ranking 8) - Strong competition, but at $8-12K premium.
4. Stelvio (actual ranking 2 and 9) - Historical reliability laughable, pricing premium....AR are hobbies, not transportation.
5. Q-5 (actual ranking 6 and 11) - Strong competition, but at $7-10K premium.
6. GLC (actual ranking 4,5,12, and 16) - Strong competition, but at 8-12K premium.
7. RDX -(actual ranking 13)...If performance, reliability, and resale are priorities, then only competition would be X-3, Q-5, and GLC. (Macan has all three, but initial investment huge premium).
So (IMO) RDX now becomes #4...without a full C&D test/comparison. I predict as value quotient enters into the equation, RDX will be (as US News) close to #1.

I have noticed one thing, every reviewer recommends RDX for its value. The car has nice touch of luxury materials, decent driving/handling and Acura/Honda's reliability factor. The new RDX is definitely more expensive than 2nd G but still very competitive compared to German cars. Now I can't wait to see the new MDX and TLX with similar features and materials.

I don't know for sure but in Canada the difference has to be around $10K CDN.

Yes, the RDX sure kills on value. But it drives close to par with the BMW (which, IMO, is a tad more supple) and simply drives noticeably better than the Audi, Merc and Volvo. Again, comparing like to like. To me, since I couldn’t get an X3 with what I want at all now, the way the RDX drives, and all of the features it has, and beats the competition by at least $5K, the RDX was the right choice for me.
Too, since my wife has a Honda and I had a BMW, neither cars controls were really strange to me, which allowed me to focus on how the cars actually drive.

Everyman Driver weighs in....basic intro video, but he should have a follow up real soon

With the 2019 RDX, freshly styled and with a sporty missive, Acura is finally showing signs of emerging from its awkward stage. Like an approving parent, we find ourselves nodding in relief.

Yep. It has the infamous moaning tailgate

Or look for the moaning, bouncing suspension. But that's a whole different site.
Apropos of that, as I was contorting myself into knots trying to look up under the front dashboard for an adaptive headlight controller, I demonstrated that the front seat backs recline all the way back. ( Sadly, my wife and kids missed the photo-op of me fully reclined in Trendelenburg position with my head stuffed under the dash ).
I haven't seen this featured in any reviews, but for those who are still young ( or young at heart ), this enhances the utility of the vehicle.

That’s great info on the reclining backseat! Didn’t know that
so were you able to confirm there is adaptive headlight?

BTW, front seat seat-back reclines until it hits back seat. Back seat doesn't recline.

Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
We are reaching back out regarding your Adaptive Front Lighting System Inquiry.
We were able to verify that the U.S 2019 RDX models do not come equipped with Adaptive front headlights systems. This is only on Canada's 2019 RDX Platinum Elite Trim.
Kind regards,
Acura Client Relations

Apparently not - I sent a query to ACR about that (because of that IIHS report) and just got this response:

Not a word about THE KNOB. LOL
But she was really "impressed" with the Acura badge "as big as her head". ( "Really, Acura". ROTFLMAO )
And she went straight for the itty bitty volume knob on the awesome audio.

She's also the first reviewer to say that the brakes have too much bite...contrary to most others and ppl on this forum.
