Any idea on when we can expect details for the 2020 RDX ? I would expect some announcements in the Feb/March time frame and shipments to start in June/July 2019?

Yup that's the usual time frame. However I really don't expect much if any changes. MAYBE a new paint color or pricing for wheels but nothing else

I think the RDX was released early on purpose as a newly released model so the release date was atypical. Normally, you won't see a 2020 start showing up until mid-late August at the earliest. I agree with @RDX10 that there will be no changes this early in the cycle and, for those that say all of the "bugs" will be worked out...by that time (we all hope) they will apply those same fixes to the 19 so not much of a real benefit to wait for a 2020 unless you have time to kill and don't need a vehicle right now or wish to eliminate some frustration from your life as it relates to some of the infotainment issues some folks have faced. I guess that I am lucky as I have not had a single issue with my unit and it has been very stable.

I predict power folding side mirrors will appear on some, if not all trim levels on the 2020 models.

In Canada the A-Spec has the ventilated seats, power folding mirrors, power lift gate and ELS 16 speaker system so it's not too far of a stretch.

I can't believe the current abominations even made it into production. Just absolutely yuck.

The RDX is having monster sales so I would expect a few tweaks to address any complaints. New wheels on the advance and maybe wireless charging added to one of the packages.

I have been eagerly awaiting Gen3 for a long time! I have a 2007 RDX Tech SH-AWD, Carbon Bronze, 230,000 miles! I have had this car since mile 7! The reason I have not replaced is that its still a fun car to drive and is in great shape and I was tired of waiting for the 2019 release so when my wife's car developed major mechanicals we replaced hers first. I am now set to replace mine once she finishes her 2nd Masters degree and funds open up some more. Looking forward to May 2019!

I would like wireless charging and a different color option. I am surprised there is such a basic color palette but it seems is the case across the entire Honda brand. I am also very disappointed with interior colors. I do not like black interiors, but everything is black near the bottom of the interior!

We could see a Type S this year as well. TOV thinks it comes first to the TLX then the RDX this year.

Unfortunately that color palette is a byproduct of Acura being so tiny and essentially using Honda cars paint colors or colors they can also use on Honda models in the future. To their credit though, the current color palette is the most adventurous they have been in a LONG time.

Also in terms of the black lower interior, try owning a car with beige carpets....oy what a hassle that was.

I would be happy to see all the great features available on the Canada market Platinum Elite trim level... which they sell there for about the same price, adjusted to US dollars, as the Advance trim level in the US. I mean, the model is made in Ohio and shipped there, yet we don't see:

1. Adaptive Headlights
2. Headlight washers
3. Folding side mirrors
4. Windshield Wiper de-icer
5. Some accessories standard like splashguards
6. and more

Instead, we will continue to likely get less and pay more. This is why the brand continues to have issues overall, despite RDX and MDX sales. A bit more consistency would help; after all, last time I checked a good portion of the US could use some the same features available there.

Aren't there some things standard in the Canadian models that are options in the US models (like remote start)? Sometimes, they make them the same the second year. They did that with my Gen 1 Honda Pilot. My '03 EXL did not have heated seats but the Canadian '03 did. In '04, they added heated seats to the US models. I never heard the end of that from my wife.

Hey guys new to the forum.

Was potentially looking to trade my Mercedes GLC 300 for an Acura RDX? I test drove it, drives well. What is you guys' opinion?

Also, I looked up the Canadian model of the RDX, feel like we got shortchanged :/

I have a few months before I make a decision, will also wait for the 2020 model..really hope we get the electric side mirrors and adaptive headlights (have them on my current vehicle and it's awesome).

I went to my local dealer yesterday and they will be getting 2020 RDX in April. They already have an order in place. I said there will be no changes. I guess will see in 2 months .

There are always changes. It will probably be limited to simple things like paint and interior color combos based on demand and feedback. They were putting optional wheels on the Advance testers in more recent reviews so they probably realize the current ones are unpopular. I've been waiting for a redesigned MDX to release but if that isn't happening by mid-year then the RDX will likely be the way I go but not until Android Auto is included. My 2005 TL is starting to have issues so the waiting game I've been playing since last year is going to force me to buy soon.

If we're lucky they may announce the Type S at the NY Auto Show in April.

Anyone has any inside information on what motivated, drove Acura to exclude power folding side mirrors from US market? This is just unforgiving...

Cost? They probably figured it's not worth having for most owners, so they decided not to offer it.

It's been discussed in a number of threads and the 'common feeling' is Acura was trying to keep the US price below $50K which would be a psychological barrier for some people. To do that some features had to be sacrificed. Not as much of an issue for the Canadian version since the currency difference already had the price there over that threshold.
