I believe this is new. Apologies if it's already been posted.

Interesting - is the RDX really quicker off the line than all of its competitors?

And boy, that Blazing Poop Mica is really an ugly color.

We need to unofficially rename this horrid color. So far we have:

Blazing Poop Mica
Canyon Diarrhea Metallic
Fecal Matter Pearl
Metallic Chocolate Starfish

Any other suggestions?

I went to a BMW event today, where we raced around a course in a big parking lot as fast as we could, with a race car driver sitting next to us telling us when to brake, accelerate, use trail braking, find the line, etc., it was fun, but not how anyone drives on the road, unless things get ugly.

So I need to focus on how the car does things in real world situations. I took the sample X3 out for a ride on the streets, and, even though I am a confirmed RTFM guy, you really need to RTFM before you go for a test drive, if you want to see all about these cars. Modern cars are way complicated. The driving aides work only in some situations, the phone interfaces have their own limitations, the driver/car interfaces are something different. Man, this sh!t can get complicated real fast. Does your key fob also control the HUD height as well as the seat positions? And the favorites? Is the HUD a source of needed info and can you put its distractions in their place? Or not?

This ain’t your mom’s Ford Galaxy.

You two are brilliant. I literally laughed out loud at this.

Here’s my take: Infant diarrhea pearl metallic

As for the video, holy cow that RDX really took the lead there. Not that I put any stock in a video comparing cars made by the company itself. But that was quite the lead there. The Audi Q5 hits 0-60 in 5.7 seconds...that RDX looked like it hits 60 in 5 seconds flat.

Thanks for sharing this video. Super cool. Wow Acura is damn confident with RDX.

Can’t freaking wait to test drive it and watch a couple of good reviews. My prediction is this week will be big... we will see reviewing appearing left and right!

You guys are hilarious! LOL!

I am not a fan of the brown colour (and wonder why they chose BROWN here to highlight the new car? Why not RED vs the other white cars?!) but the thing that really gets me is the rim design. I so wished that the Advance trim would have something nicer than this! Why not make those ones on the auto show RDX the standard Advance trim rims!? Sigh....

Not my colour choice, but I suspect this is a colour that will look better in person than on screen. As for the rims....... I know that some folks want black rims only, but just remember, this is a highly subjective thing. But I have come to quite like my 2016 2.4 rims, so what the heck do I know

I call BS on the acceleration test at the end. No way the RDX would get that kind of jump on the others. Unless it secretly has a Civic Type R motor under the hood....

He is a solid reviewer. Unlike most of the journalists, he isn't too biased. I can tell you guys one thing, he likes Infiniti and sometimes you do feel that he is biased toward the brand. But overall, he is my all time favorite.

I also watch Redline Reviews. Fairly thorough, but definitely biased in my opinion. There are a decent amount of good reviewers on Youtube.

I occasionally watch redline reviews but I can’t stand the reviewers voice at all. He’s SO boring and monotonous, not to mention extremely biased. His reviews are only good if you want an overview of the car, a.k.a listen to the review in mute because when he talke he puts way too much of his own biased opinion in. Also anytime he drives something that isn’t a sports or performance car he keeps whining about handling. Like shocker a Jag F-Pace doesn’t drive as good as a F-Type....shocking,

I "liked" Alex on Autos on Facebook. Look forward to seeing his upcoming RDX video. Yeah, I saw his comment about the True Touchpad Interface, how he thought, and I quote, it's MUCH better compared to Lexus' infotainment interface (although as noted, he didn't care for push-button gear shifting). I continue to not be concerned about that, myself. I'll adapt quickly, I'm sure. Anyway, he also corrected people who commented about SH-AWD. You can tell he does his research.

Someone asked when the video would be out and he said May 31st and called it the 'magic day'. I'm guessing that is when Acura lifts the media embargo given that it's launching June 1st in several markets.

Whoa...that White Diamond Pearl at the very front looks super sharp. Prior to my current Fathom Blue Pearl, I had favored White on my two previous cars. Sticking with FBP again, but that reminded me about why I liked White.

I too like white/parchment however, I keep going back to red in this case. I went ahead and put down a $500 refundable deposit on an incoming base RDX Performance Red with Parchment AWD. Sort of a gamble price wise to order one early. MSRP (errr). However, whatever that is may or may not seem good when we get to that point.
I will get $750 military from Acura Financial Services. My guess is $39,000 ish.

FWIW, being hit in the eye with a foul ball at a game is better than the Lexus “infotainment ” interface. I could barely get that working sitting still with the salesman in the passenger seat telling me what to do. And I am the tech guy my friends and wives and family look to for “how do you do that” stuff.

Isn't that bright red color exclusive to the A-Spec?

According to the info provided by a dealership, Performance Red is not an A-Spec exclusive. You might be thinking of the Red interior, which is.

Haha the RDX does have a similar engine to the CTR.

The Accord 2.0T has a higher 1/4 mile trap speed than the Audi A4 2.0T. The Q5 2.0T has the exact same engine as the A4, and the RDX has an upgraded version of the same engine as the Accord with 20hp more. As such, I can see there's a bit of a gap there.

And the Q5 2.0T is pretty much the fastest between a X3 30i, GLC300, NX300, RX350, etc.

RDX 2.0T Advance:
Power: 272hp
Weight: 4069lb
0-60mph: ??
1/4 mile: ??

Q5 2.0T:
Power: 252hp
Weight: 4180lb
0-60mph: 5.8s
1/4 mile: 14.5@95mph

RX350
Power: 295hp
Weight: 4517lb
0-60mph: 6.9s
1/4 mile: 15.3@92mph

GLC300:
Power: 241hp
Weight: 4084lb
0-60mph: 5.9s
1/4 mile: 14.7@93mph

X3 30i:
Power: 248hp
Weight: 4297lb
0-60mph: 6.2s
1/4 mile: 14.9@94mph

The RDX essentially has 20-30hp over its main rivals while being lighter in most cases. While it has less power than the RX, the RX is over 400lb heavier. It also has more gears to put the power down. I can definitely see Acura rigging the test but I also wouldn't be surprised if the RDX is indeed the fastest in its class.

Is that HP number based only on using premium gas? IMO, that is the only difference. I await the impartial (hopefully) press to work that out. There are many mechanical differences between the Accord 2.0 and the CTR.

Wait. Did anyone else catch what was written in the video?

"We could tell you it's the best"

"But you can see for yourself"

Those are some big claims to make. Especially since you then call out 7 of your closest vehicle competitors.

Not sure why the RX is being compared here, it’s a whole size class larger. I also found it so funny that they decided to put the GMC terrain in that comparo seeing as how the new RDX actually looks A LOT like it from the side, rear, and lower front bumper lmao. Almost like they realized how close it looks but wanted to prove it was worth the extra money.

With that being said, I kinda find it hard to beleive it would be faster than the Q5, I drove one for a week and that thing is QUICK. But if it is, that’s AWESOME!!!

I caught that. To be honest this is the first really competitive Acura product in a while so I actually think they have a right to ths cocky.
