Should i go straight pipes? I know the video is a 3rd gen but if im not mistaken they have the same motor as the 2nd gen? so im guessing itll sound the same

He kept his cats and res but straight pipes after the res. Yay or nay, if yay where should i go get it? *i know one of you guys are gonna say dirty johns.. my answer to that is no for now lmao.

Idk i somewhat want to keep stock exhaust on the side so in case something happens i can hook it back up and get rid of the straight pipes. I was hoping J-Trans could do it since i live right there but they said they cant

Here's a cell phone pic. Overall turnout was good. I wish I had painted that area behind the diffuser black so it would have that smoked look. For anyone planning to get USR diffusers, they are not an exact fit and will have to be sanded down but it is worth it. The reflector areas wrapped with 3m di noc wrap.

You might get more responses in the 2g section. Idk if the 2g and 3g have the same setup.

fix't!

One of my homeboys with a 6th gen Accord V6 did a straight pipe with stock headers.exhaust piping & cats & tbh it did sound good (no rasp) when he revved it. I never heard it at full WOT but cruising speed it was good from the outside.

EDIT: BTW,youre not the only modded 2g TL here,Marc is one.

Dennis, glad to see your headlights came out good.

Yeah after the cats,no resonators so it was basically one single straight pipe all the way to the back like 240 drivers. I wish he still had the car so i could get him to make a vid but he doesnt

Actually that makes it 3 of y'all cuz i just remembered Mario also got a 2g TL-P (NBP).
Here's Marcs car from our galveston cruise we had this summer..

And here's Mario's car,hes slammed now tho (hes in gtown like TLdude)

alright ill prob do the same, straight pipes after cat to my stock axle backs.

thats weird lol.. both cars have the rim options i want, and marc has his fatlace frame up front while i have mines in the back, have my canibeat one up front.

i prob wont get coil overs just H&R springs but idk which rim choice to go with. they both look great to me.

so guys i have a dilemma. Should i stick with my 03 tl-s or go into a 98 gs400. the gs has navigation and front and rear radar diffusers with only 82,000 miles but the downside is it's gold. my car just hit 122k miles but i've spent about 1500 in my system alone. either way the car will only be kept for about 4-6 months because after that i'll be hopping into a mkIV supra. Suggestions?

If your TL runs fine and you're going to need either car for only 6 months max, I say keep the TL unless you can make some type of profit from the swap.

taking the system out of the TL would be tough since i'm running a 5 channel amp, meaning i'd have to run new wires again or put in a cheaper 4 channel amp with no sub.
also i've had a gs400 previously too and man that car is fun.

it runs great and all but i'm just looking for something fun for a few months. profit wise doesn't really matter because as some people may know we own a dealership. The GS is just one car that came by that i love

^Damn. Sorry to hear. Hope everyone is out of harms way and they get it under control. My neighborhood was evacuated last week Monday night. 200 acres burned due to the wildfire. Luckily no one or homes were harmed.
