Basically he slid in to the car in front when they slammed on the brakes, and he said his ABS didn't kick in. He didn't hit them real hard, but the person behind really messed up and slammed him hard. Good news is that everyone is safe, no injuries. What is weird is that his airbag didn't deploy.

Oh well, the odds are it was bound to happen.

Yep, even though the airbag didn't deploy, and he was hit from behind by about 30mph and he was at a stand still . . he felt fine this morning. Thank God.

As I suspected, the car is totalled. Need to wait and see what we get out of it and then decide to repair or replace.

He's lucky. I was in my bud's car when we got t-boned on my side at around 15-20Mph.

I still get neck aches to this day due to Farmer's pretty much forcing me out of therapy (I was "extorting" money from them by still going after 2 weeks).

My roommate has free tix to Ennis Raceway tomorrow for some races (dunno exactly which class etc but he said they are like 5 sec 1/4 milers), and their fking website doesn't work or load for me. So yea I've never actually been to real (legal) races so might check it out.

Yea they should be interesting. The cars were running Dallas Raceway to get the cars dialed in for this weeks events. There will be some nice cars out there. The bounty hunter and wild child will both be out there. Things will be quick!

Damn I might not make Cars and Coffee this sucks...I am going to go to Cali for a few days before SEMA so might be leaving early in the week. Met up with Ethan to borrow his wheels too. Very cool guy even though the meeting was very short.

well i got my rear spoiler in yesterday. perfect paint match. I called Acura and got a quote for $399 on the spoiler which blew me away it was that much. found an aftermarket site that sells them for $99 unpainted, $199 painted, $16 UPS shipping. I ordered them Wednesday and they were here Friday. the site is http://www.slickcar.com.

Only issue is this is a complete stick on. my OEM one had 2 bolts holding it as well which are still on my car. I need to figure out how to use the bolts with the spoiler that was not configured for them. I can't just lay the spoiler over them because they stick up enough that they don't let the new spoiler seat completely.

I'll need to find the drawings of the OEM ones to see how they were attached and see if I can modify this spoiler with bolt attachments.

Hmmm does the spoiler have like a place you can drill? I would drill a little hole then tap a thread in there so you can still kind of use your bolts if you want to use them. If anything remove them and see how it looks.

Anyone heard anything if this weekend's C&C is going to be big or same/less # of cars? I saw that some guy that works at that BMW dealership said there is going to be some BMW Z8 club, other than that I dunno.

Just gotta see for yourself, I guess.

And holy crap, the new GS430s are fast from a dig. Granted, they are rear wheel drive unlike us and in my defense, it was slightly wet (and torque steer+water=baaad), so I wasn't actually thinking he was going to run. But, I think I still sounded better.

Good to hear mark. I am over here in Vegas. Just went to check out the pre runs of the SEMA show and damn...I am over at the second building for tooling and manufacturers and its a workout...There is also a separate building for the aftermarket...This event was a lot bigger than I thought lol. I knew it was big but I did not realize it was two buildings big...Dropping everything out of my mem cards and charging my batteries.

Well Guys, Snaps girl is preggo so we are trying to sell her S2000.

here is the thread if anyone is interested. It is well maintained (by yours truly), and probably one of the best condition 2002's you will ever come across. When Samantha was looking at S2k's I actually found this for her, and I think we picked a good one. I hate to see it go, especially since it's my all time favorite (and rare) interior.

Here is the thread.

Well congrats are in order So, planning on finding out if it's a girl or a boy ???

Good luck on selling the S2k, and you get what you want for it.

Know anyone that has a nice Prelude, Integra, Supra or Celica for sale? We're looking for something in that type and around $7k . . . it's for my son and needs to be an automatic.

there is no replacement for displacement... the V8 does a good job at moving the 4k lbs...

I would recommend a lexus gs300 around a 98 or so model year...The mileage is high but the car is reliable as long as it is maintained. It has a strong motor if anything goes wrong and its a pretty safe car. But it seems to me you guys are looking for something sporty.

Anyone want a deal on a 3 month old battery?

It's out of the Prelude that was totalled. Bought it 7/21 and I hate to see the insurance company get a new battery out of it.

It's a Super Start - Extreme Battery from O'Reilly's
Part Number: 24REXT

These are their higher end batteries and fit some 4cyl CLs, MDX and 2004-09 TLs.

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...PartType=C0005

Purchase price was $97.41 and I'd it's yours with for $25 and core.

Nah, just the battery as it's basically new . . possibly the rear struts, but that would be a big pain. Since we'd get stuck with a salvage title it's not worth fixing . . especially with the money we're getting.

On my car, yes I still want to bring it by . . maybe tomorrow or so . . will call you to check first.

Hum, yeah . . we (I) used to think highly of David McDavid Plano until I had that major screw up deal with them last year. I don't trust them to change my oil.
