WTF is wrong with my phone? Verizon.

I have the LG4400.

So recently, I'd try to make a call, and it'd never go through. I'd wait five minutes, same thing. Change locations. No dice.

So I had to powercycle the phone, and after that I could make a call.

So I called Verizon... They noticed I wasn't using the most recent software, so I took it into a store, got the phone upgraded. They said to powercycle the phone every few days as a habit... So I've been doing that.

So yesterday morning, I pick up my phone off the charger and give it the Monday morning powercycle. Come to work... Get a call. Everything is cool. Leave work... Try to make a call. Nothing. Try again. Nothing. Powercycle the phone. Try again. It works.

So I get home and my wife is asking where I was??? Turns out she was trying to call me yesterday afternoon and kept getting my voicemail. Turns out my issue is a two way street. I can't do outgoing stuff or incoming stuff until the phone is powercycled.

This pisses me off to no end because I shouldn't have to powercycle my phone every half hour because of some issue with the phone... I gotta call Verizon and see what they can do. Seems unacceptable to me.

Thoughts???

Cocksucking verizon...

Tells me to go down and get my phone flashed AGAIN... I'm at v10, v11 is out.

The fuckers last time told me that v10 would solve my issues. Now I gotta go get v11 of the software to supposedly fix this.

Bunch of shit.

lol i dun like em either.. rather go with tmobile so i can get all the cool aftermarket phones that use gsm technology... but alas im not paying the bill for the verizon phone so i guess i have to live with it.

oh the only thing i like is signal is great compared to any of the other vendors.

I am usually not aware of tech problems...but seems to me that you do u have bad software, the 4400 is pretty good compared to alot of the other phones i see come back, i got that phone for my father and he has no complaints....along with flashing the phone try pressing *228 and updating your roaming capabitlies so your phone doesnt have to try as hard to find a tower..

try that..if not then you local store should know how to handle getting you a new phone accordingly

Hope this is enough info...i can ask the techs at my store to analyze the problem and get back to u...

I don't think it's your phone at all. Reflashing the phone's software obviously is not fixing the problem. Based on how you described the issue, it sounds like the phone is not properly registering on the Verizon network. Every now and again, the phone talks to the network and says "hey I'm here." If the registration fails, the network either thinks the phone is off or the phone is off-network.

Powercycling the phone initiates registration. So does when you press TALK, the phone should register with the network and you should be able to make a call. But you said even that was not working. Obviously not all LGs are having this problem, so that's what leads me to believe it is the network...or a combination of the network and the phone.

Sounds like a bug somewhere, I'm sure they'll get it worked out....
