I have norton antivirus 2004 and about once a week it will automatically scan my harddrive for viruses.

This wouldn't be a problem but the damn thing almost always does it when I'm playing PC games (like call of duty).

It seriously lagges the shit out of my computer and I usually have to shut the game down and manually hit the 'stop scan' button.

Anybody know how to turn this shit off so it only scans when I manually tell it to????????

you should be able to go into your virus scan console and reschecule the scans to whatever time and whatever freaquency you like. Just do som elooking aorund.

Uninstall that shit...

turn it off so it doesn't do it, and turn it on when you want to manually scan, very simple.

Go into your control panel, find scheduled taks (sometimes under Performance and Maintenance (WinXP), and find "Norton AntiVirus - Scan my computer"

right click-->properties-->uncheck enable.

Or, click the schedule tab, and change it to a time you don't use the PC
