LOL, you knew exactly why I didn't want a Seagate. So the 3TB had the issues, good to know.
the 3TB barracuda (their entry level drive).
FWIW, I have about 100 (no joke) Seagate SV and NAS series drives (1TB-4TB) in my office right now and all but about 2 work well. Those two I took out of service, but a 2% failure rate is OK by me...
I will say that I bought a 3TB Seagate external, it failed, and they gave me a refurb 3TB that is less than perfect.
Maybe in a few months I'll move my media onto a 2TB SSD and connect it to a new wireless router as a (very) basic NAS. Enough storage for what I need and I won't have to worry so much about the drive dying on me.
I'm not sure how MLB determines that you are T-mobile customer. When I first tried to register it complained that I wasn't accessing the site on T-mobile data network. Once I turned off the wifi on my phone it let me signup for an MLB account. It didn't ask me for anything T-Mobile related, just name/email address.
I couple weeks ago I bought a 1TB PNY SSD for $210 at BB. I went back to purchase another on Friday and it was $250. But I purchased a 1TB for $225 on Amazon
I'm an OLD NT 4.0 MCSE and old MCSD for .NET. I'm pretty much ok setting up any servers I need to for web serving, but debating on getting some official MS training on some of the bigger things like designing whole networks. Hell, I haven't been certified since Active Directory came out.
My MCSE was paid for by my then-employer, who had an immediate need for certified employees to keep their partner status. My MCSD was a self-funded boot camp and wasn't cheap back then - they're super expensive now. $60, I can part with easily enough if it's official curriculum and will get me to the prometric testing level.
I retract this offer. After spending the $60, I have been sorely disappointed. The website doesn't even render in IE 11 and when I redeemed my voucher (using Firefox) to sign up, the emails I got for registration were plain text and one had a typo in the subject line.
I haven't even logged in yet (just got my credentials), but I have some serious reservations about this. I apologize for promoting such a piece of shit before fully checking it out for myself.

Please tell me you didn't buy this. I'm kind of resigned to make the best of it. Although their website is total shit, at least it really does show full training videos.
