Streaming Netflix on the go

I'm taking a road trip and bringing my wi-fi only iPad1. My kids like the Netflix streaming service via my home wi-fi.

I'm thinking about getting a Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go MiFi 2200 from Walmart. It's a 3G hotspot. Will this thing stream Netflix successfully during my road trip or will my kids be sad?

Don't you need to purchase a plan for it as well? Do you own an iPhone? Is it jailbroken? You can turn it into a hotspot without ATT seeing your data... Done.

And if the coverage during your travel is good you'll have an easy life, if not, get some movies into your iPad.

Nice thing about this hotspot is that the plans are pre-paid, no contract. Uses the Sprint network.
$20 - Provides 1GB of data over 30 days

I don't have anything that I can jailbreak. I was thinking I may use it on the train for my daily commutes after the road trip.

1gb isn't going to cut it, that's like maybe 2 sd movies and half of one HD movie

I guess that's cool, but if you ever need to tether your device to any smartphone without alerting the provider of the usage. PDAnet is your app.

Enjoy your trip.

I've used my JB iPhone as a hotspot to stream netflix hulu to my iPad and it worked pretty good on AT&T.
