Roxio CD/DVD burning software...who has it?

It came with my new Dell computer. I am having a hard time trying to burn cd's. I followed everything that is said to do.

Opened Roxio
Put the cd in
Formatted the cd
Dragged the files over to burn
Hit copy

When it's all said and done, I go to put my cd in another cd player and it only reads one file on the cd and it doesnt play anything.

What am I missing?

Why did you format it? Did you use a CD-RW?

If he's formatting then it probably won't run on anything other than the formatting machine. My guess.

Why would you format it? I have this software & used it for years problem free.

If you choose to burn music(it's an option) the mp3 will convert to wav Automatically
If you choose data it will burn mp3 directly.

I got it. There is no need to format anything. Which version you got. I think I got 7 not sure. But all work the same..

when you open the program it will give you a load of options, copy cd, dvd cd's, movies, blahh blahh blahhh.. On there, there should be 1 option that says CREATOR CLASSIC".

Open that. Then it will have if I am not mistaking, a new window open with 3 windows in it. Left window shows you what type of disc this will be, chose MUSIC or AUDIO(dont know the exact wording on it), then on top window, thats where you chose your directory where your music is. No need to convert anything. Since you have selected AUIDO or MUSIC CD this program will do it all for you. After you have found your music folder or files, just drag them to the bottom window.

You will notice a long bar at the bottom filling in with colored bars with numbers in them, like 1,2, 3, 4.. this is just letting you know each individual track. And its great becuase you can see how much space each track is taking up on the cd. FILL IT UP. then just click on the cd LOG on FIIIYYAAAAA.. lol. (Fire), BUrn baby burn!!!

ps// on the do not convert anything comment i just said, take this into consideration..

This software mainly recognized mp3's.. So if you got another type of file for a song, it might now show up in your directory.

I've got version Easy Media Creator Suite 8 and haven't had any problems with it.

Even the multi disc DVD burning works great.

Prior to version 8 i had also used Suite 7.

The formatting is probably your problem. It's not necessary.

screw it. I havent figured it out yet, so I just did it through windows media player. Dont know why I just didnt do this in the first place. It's burning now, so I will listen and compare the quality with the cd I burned from Roxio like 2 weeks ago.

Gunnmetalcura-Nothing in my roxio program is remotely close to what you're explaining. If it helps any, I have Roxio Creator LE Dell-Edition. I literally just got this computer like 2 weeks ago, so this is probably their most updated program?

I wasted several DVDs trying to get Roxio to work with my DVD-burner earlier this week. The drag-to-disk utility seems to work, but barfed on a file half way thru the 3 GB write. Creator Classic wouldn't even recognize the DVD and downloading the latest updates had no effect. So, I downloaded a free burning package (CDBurner XP Pro 3) and it works like a charm.

But still, there is something somewhere that says EASY CD CREATOR CLASSIC. its their trade mark software.

Amen to that, I use a combination of Roxio and Nero and it works fine. I've never formatted a blank disc to make a music cd though.
