Refurbished Laptop?

Hey guys, where you think I should look for a warrantied refurbished laptop??? Ive been looking at dell at their refurbished laptops, all of them are over 1000. Damn. I am looking for a laptop to do some programming on, Word, surf the web and talk online via AIM. My school offers wireless connections, all I have to do is let them know my MAC address of my wireless card and I get connected to the T-1's.

I need something to do during my 2 hr breaks at school, and I might as well get English hw done and programming labs done as well.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

$100 or $1000 ?

If it's $1000 - hell, I'll sell ya mine for cheaper!

It'll take care of "I am looking for a laptop to do some programming on, Word, surf the web and talk online via AIM"

I used to use it when I traveled to surf AOL, play games...
It's got Excel/Word/Outlook on it.

I have all the necessary software for it. Im hoping to get one that will run Win XP Pro, along with XP office professional. Prob looking at a 1 ghz laptop, dell I like

found one p3 1000, or p4 1600. Might spend the extra money for a 1500 dollar one. Then again, new ones are right around there too, up to about 2000.

Ill have to see what my budget allows and go from there. I have to buy a linksys wireless card as well, thats the best that will access the network. I also want 10/100 when im at home if i ever feel the need to connect to my LAN. I have an alienware 2.53 ghz desktop running at home.

What you think, go for new or get a loaded refurbished one?
