I switched back to FF from Chrome a few months back and have been happier for it.

Loved chrome but it started to be really unstable for me. FF is good.

Dell finally figured out how to make a laptop as thin as a Macbook. I see this in my future.

and damn is it something.

Dell officially unveils Precision M3800 workstation at SIGGRAPH, gives rumored specs a nod

By Sean Buckley posted Jul 25th, 2013 at 2:39 AM 66
<hr> Remember that Haswell-powered Dell workstation that popped up last week? The company is officially ready to acknowledged its silicon, announcing on its corporate blog that the machine is being unveiled at SIGGRAPH this week. Dell is still reluctant to get into specifics, but confirmed on a teaser page that the Precision M3800 would contain a 4th Generation Intel Core-i7 CPU, NVIDIA Quadro graphics and a 3,200 x 1,800 QHD+ multi-touch IGZO display. Even better, all that is set to fit into a tight 0.7-inch chassis that weighs in at 4.5 pounds. Mum's still the word on specifics, but previous leaks assigned the machine 15GB of RAM and either a 1TB HDD or a 512GB SSD. Dell hasn't let the workstation's price slip either, but we don't expect it to be cheap -- nothing thin and powerful ever is.

Meh, Dell...

Precision Workstations are very nice.

I'm losing my marbles here. So I have a dual monitor setup at this station at work. Left monitor is perfect color. Right one has a blue tint.

I've adjusted the right monitor OSD settings to everything possible, the blue tint remains. I've changed the DVI cable, nada. I swapped the DVI cables between the monitors, expecting left show blue tint now and the right one to be perfect - well Windows is being a smartass and remembers the identity of the monitors when I swap, so this did nothing! I've replaced the monitor with a different one, same blue tint on the replacement. o_O

What the f@ is going on. Swapping DVI ports - no difference. Swapping monitors - no difference. Replacing DVI cables - nothing. I connected one monitor (the right one by itself), same blue effen tint. It's like it knows when I connect everything but the left monitor. What kind of voodoo is this shit? Ideas?

Basic AMD 7700 GPU - nothing fancy, but if it was not working, swapping ports would have showed the difference right away. Windows is fucking with me? I've tried 3 other monitors, so it's not the monitor.

Is there a way to adjust color setting in AMD Catalyst control software. They should give you advanced settings to tweak color profile or gamma or whatever it is that's causing the issue.

Yep, I've played with that as well. I went as far as even creating new profile just for that monitor, but regardless what I do, the blue tint remains. I'm just puzzled as why it's doing this. I also can't get the monitor to show white as daylight white, it shows as a higher temp, but when I verify the monitor is locked in 6500K as default, which is what it should be on. :ugh:

I'll try to swap the GPU.

uh, does anyone know how to fix jadeclick IE search redirect? I checked all the regular stuff and am unable to fix it. Have tried Spybot, Malware Bytes, Superantispyware, TDSkiller, Combofix, but I didn't try the first 3 in Safe mode - not sure that would make a difference... also checked various other things as recommended at sites... but this bugger just won't go away.... :annoyed:

thanks in advance for any help

Whiskers Aug 8, 2013 01:18 AM

Always run SAS or MBAM in safe mode. Also try Norton Power Eraser.

TeknoKing Aug 8, 2013 08:42 AM

^ I'd try a bootup Kaspersky... It's free, leave it for full scan it usually does the trick...and IE? We don't let friends use IE... Ever.

jadeclick IE search redirect? Never heard of it and a Google/Bing search turns up nothing....

What are the symptoms? What site/s are you being re-directed to?

TeknoKing Aug 9, 2013 09:18 AM

This better not be the one I got you...

srika Aug 9, 2013 08:56 PM

no way. I never have trouble like this with personal machines. :p

that thing is sweet as hell btw, I use it as an ultra-portable photo editing workstation - I can run all of the photo programs I use on my desktop and bigger laptop on it, pleasantly.

#1 STUNNA Aug 9, 2013 08:57 PM

If it's a rootkit in the MBR of the drive a reinstall probably won't fix it...

srika Aug 9, 2013 08:59 PM

not my problem anymore, haha

Anyone know of a good 3rd party SSD Optimization TRIM tool for XP? I bought a San Disk SSD for a client and they don't make any SSD software, they said to use 3rd party tools but didn't bother to recommend any. :bored:

I don't think you can run Intel's SSD Toolbox on non Intel SSDs...

No clue, but you still use XP?

i believe support will cease for xp after the end april 2014. you should recommend updating the OS while getting the trim support that you need.

#1 STUNNA Aug 11, 2013 08:15 PM

Yeah that's not going to happen. As long as that thing still runs it will stay there. It's the back office PC at a restaurant.

Hate this crap.. why the F would I want to download the stupid app when I can download the mp3 directly at the below link? Too bad many people will click to download the app just because they don't know to click below. This is Amazon taking advantage of those people, by making them download the app. :annoyed: hate companies that do that. (This is Amazon btw)

Put windows 8.1 (or at least I believe its the 8.1 preview version) on my macbook pro last night. Haven't tested it out yet really, but will be doing that whenever I need to use windows.

Whats the main difference between 8 and 8.1?

#1 STUNNA Oct 14, 2013 10:33 AM

Start button

maybe I dont have the start button :dunno: or this is an old build? The start button just takes me into metro mode.

I knew that was one of the things and I was looking out for that.
