question for making a webpage!!!

how do you put a security code for a certain page under your website? i used netscape and frontpage to design my website and there is a page that I only want my friends to have access to. any suggestions?

It depends on your web server. For IIS, you set access permissions for the directory the web page is in (or for the file itself), and then the web server will automatically authenticate. The procedure varies with other servers (Apache, Netscape, etc.), but the main point is it's a function of the web server, not the HTML page.

thanks for answering the question.... and i was just reading the HELP menu from my frontpage and i can't seem to click on my tools-->security....

Your first a most major problem is you are using Frontpage! Your second problem is you are using Nutscrape.

If you aren't using IIS you can use HT Access. If you don't have access to the webserver you could use PHP to do it. Or rig something using JavaScript... like have the password be the name of the directory the secure part of the site is in. Pretty crappy, but you're using Frontpage already so... :p
