Princeton Review College Outlook
Aug. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Yale University has the No. 1 academics program in the U.S., according to an annual survey of colleges conducted by the Princeton Review.
Princeton University, Duke University, Amherst College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology follow on the list, according to the company's Web site.
The University of Colorado topped the list of party schools based on survey questions about the use of alcohol and drugs, hours of study each day, and the Greek system.
Colorado ranked among the top five in four categories dealing with parties, including No. 3 for student use of marijuana. In contrast, Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, was the top sober school.
Ron Stump, vice chancellor of student affairs at the University of Colorado, didn't immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
Marlboro College, in Marlboro, Vermont, was named the ``Best Academic Bang for Your Buck'' followed by Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois, and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. The United States Military Academy led the list of toughest schools to get into, followed by Princeton, Harvard University, Yale and the United States Naval Academy.
The 11-year-old survey ranks the top 20 schools in 63 categories based on interviews with 106,000 students at 351 top colleges, Princeton Review said in a statement. The company is known for its test preparation courses and college admission services.
