"Retailer Best Buy is aiming to take a bite out of Apple Computer with the release of a new, wide-screen notebook designed by Porsche."

w/out firewire this best buy laptop WILL NOT compete with the powerbook. And come one of their main hightlights is "style" they totally failed. Sure it's not ugly but it's not as attractive as the TiBook.

Now this is sexy!

oops.

Overall... descent portable. They did basically copy the TiBook, but there are a few things missing. DVI-Outpu, anyone? True design? A fully featured portable UNDER 6 pounds? NO Legacy anything. A really nice, overpriced, really hot, Pentium 4-M (just so you know, Speedstep raises/lowers processor speed based on CPU demand). XP Home? Gimme a break! OS X can do a LOT more than XP Home. NO real software bundle (MS Works and a software DVD Player) SDRAM on the graphics chip (Tibook has DDR)I didn't see anything about audio-in. 10/100 Ethernet? tibook got a GIGABIT! Just to name a few. Oh, and one more thing, on intel's own website, the show off battery life of the 2.2 GHz processor (http://intel.com/home/notebook/Penti...prod_overview&)
an extensive 147 minutes (2 hours 27 minutes) WOW. Also, I can't really tell from the pics, but it looks like it has 4-pin FireWire, not 6. Difference, 4-pin doesn't supply power. So, to all the Mac users out there, don't be too upset.

Porsche should be ashamed to call that "Porsche design." I could have designed that too.

Step one: go to Apple's site
Step Two: copy
Step three: Paste
Step Four: Slight color changes
Step Five :Transform tool and enlarge
step six: add antiquated parallel port.
step seven: put a wavy logo on the hood so that no one will know it's actually a best buy laptop.
Save and name : crap lap copy.tif

haha vigilant mac lovers crack me up. They're always so defensive.

I agree that the design is pretty basic...hopefully they didn't pay porsche designers too much for that. I was hoping for an etched porsche emblem on the case or something...
