I say a color TV uses more power than a Black and White TV set and increasing the sound volume on any set uses more electricity.

My friend says they all pull the same amount since they are plugged into a wall outlet.

Depends on type of set.
Plasma Color uses much more watts than LED Color.
If the BW set is CRT then its kinda same for Color CRT.
LED's are very low in power use.

 

The larger, the brighter will use more, so you can't really say which one eats more, but since black and white is outdated, it obviously uses more. Amount of pixels also matters, but color or black and white still uses same pixel light amount to fill it, just at different temperatures.

Yes, increasing the sound loudness will eat more energy, common sense.
