overcharging a battery?

I have a moto V600, is it possible to overcharge the battery? Is it bad if the phone is kept on the charger when it's fully charged? just wondering....

Newer generation cell phones should be smart enough to just trickle charge while remaining connected to the charger. Shouldn't be something to be too concerned about.

The really old ghetto cell phones circa early 90's probably did not have this. The newer, more recent cell phones have the trickle charging capability built in (not part of the battery).

And I think this works with any of the Li-Ion or Li-Polymer batteries. No sure about the Ni-Cd batteries.

That initial burn in can affect the LIONs as well. Some don't seem to get any advantage from it, but others do - i think some manufacturers might do the burn in at the factory.
