Thumbs up New Sprint PCS phone (Samsung)

Check out the A400 on the Sprint PCS website.

Website picture doesn't do the phone justice so I made some myself:

Nope. Samsung and LG would never co-develop a phone. But you are close, they are both Korean companies.

Unfortunately, if you don't have Sprint PCS service, you won't be able to use one of these phones. None of the other carriers (All-talk, A-TTless, Venison, US Worst, or Piss-stream) presently have it.

Hmmm, I could be wrong, but when I was buying nextel, my friend offered me sprint and a free phone. It was a touchpoint phone and he something about the phone was co developed w/ samsung and lg..... again I could be wrong...

Venison? Is that a new company?? The a400 looks good, and its feature rich (GPS ready? :wow: ), but it could take styling cues from LG and give it a screen on the outside, like the Touchpoint 1100...

Samsung is cool, unfortunately it doesn't have caller ID display on the flip (like the v60).

Damn, I wish Voicestream had nicer phones. The T28 only comes in death-blue, not silver, and the other ones Voicestream utilize are big and bulky. Anyone know why this is? Am I the only one here who uses VoicestreaM?

Not sure what the GSM strategy is. Here at CDMA, we go to the manufacturers and basically let them know what our desires are. That's part of my job. And I like phones. So I "demand" the cool devices for my customers. Since you can't use any other phone on the Sprint PCS network, I have to make sure we have all kinds and all types available for the segments that we market to.

OTOH, GSM is wide open. You don't have to buy a phone from VStream. You can get a GSM phone from Europe, Asia, or other American carriers as long as the phone is not sim-locked. Take out your sim-card (your account), put it in the new phone, and you're good to go; on VStream. Therefore VStream doesn't have to buy all the latest and coolest phones and try to sell them to its customers. I guess they're depending on YOU to find the phone that you like if you don't like what they sell.

And from what I've seen, GSM phones across the world are just as cool as the CDMA phones. You might have to pay a little bit more....

Hey! We have Sprint PCS service in Fargo?

Didn't know that, must be a reseller of Sprint service. The 5150 is a great phone and the color display is the best one out there "so far" at least in N. America. They're going at a pretty good price now, so you can't go wrong.

I like the new Smartphone Samsung put out (on the North America market). I think that's what my next phone will be... so I can store a few things (no need for a real powerful PDA), built-in modem (no need for an adapter to use it as a phone, or surf th web), and, not much bigger than a lot of phone currently out there. What about those, Ken?

It's a reseller. Likewise for Bismark, ND. You'd need a dual band phone, like my Samsung 3500. Unfortunately my POS phone have a loose wire. The caller can hear me but I can't hear them unless I juggle the ear piece.

I believe Best Buy has a great deal going on presently. Something like an instant rebate plus a mail-in rebate.
