Mom washed my cell phone (new phone questions)
I use verizon. I am going to buy a phone from ebay. Do I have to buy a phone that is on the verizon web site. Or can I buy any phone? If not, can you recommend me a good verizon phone?

You can only buy a phone that is compatible with the awesome Verizon CDMA network. Their network is so perfect and so unique that they only allow certain phone models to work on it. You can buy your phone from any place that will sell it to you, you just have to make sure it is the same phone that could be sold by Verizon. IOW, forget about buying a Sprint, ATT, Cingular, or T-Mobile phone and activating it on Verizon. So basically that leaves you with the LG or the V60.

dont you have insurance? i still dont understand why people dont get it... $5 isn't going to hurt anyone...
early upgrade like mikey said.
as long as you're 12 months+ in your contract your 24 month contract, you can buy a phone at promo price if you renew for 2 yrs on a access plan $49 or higher... otherwise... full retail.
and yes verizon WILL sell you a phone in the middle of your contract. what you pay for it is contingent on what criteria you fall in. depending on the customer and their ARPU... i've seen the impossible happen....

call in and ask. the cingular guy (slooo97) and sprint guy (kensteele) have no idea what your options are as a verizon customer.

someone got smart not sure if it was Verizon or LG
but the LG vx6000 has a small circle on the back of the battery, and the SECOND it hits ANY LIQUID it turns solid pink....
So the time I went in a pool with my phone, I had to buy a new battery, put it on, make sure there was no sign of water damage and get them to replace it....
Same thing with the time I dropped it in a coke.....
now I have a collection of non usable batteries with pink dots building up...
Point bein Verizon has some of the best hardware support, as long as your within your warranty period, or they think you are they will replace your phone without asking too many questions.....and free of charge no having to pay insurance deductibles

it was hard as shit to get a job with verizon wireless. i started trying to get a job with them the day i left my old job.... after 4 interviews in four months, i finally got a job offer.... was NOT easy... they look for quality people and feel very fortunate to work for them.
only company i even considered applying for. as stupid as it was, it was the only company that i submitted my resume to when i lost my job. i can honestly say i posted my resume online at least 12 times before i got my position... got my job thru their online job posting...

Those pimp daddy's at Verizon hooked me up. I went to one of those black guys that you can tell are ballas, so I was like hey my phone broke can you fix it under warranty. He looks up my account, says no you dont have any insurance or warranty but I will hook you up.
Gives me two new face plates, along with a new LCD, and fixes my phone for free.
What a champ
