The iphone update murdered my phone

Last night I plugged my iphone into my computer for the first time to add some music and it said there's an update 3.xx (can't remember the update version). so i click ok and it starts to download.

when it seems to just about finished, i get en error and the phone crashes. it now won't turn on. wtf. i tried everything i saw on youtube and read on the net and nothing worked. it's only 8 months old so i'm heading to the apple store later.

it's NOT unlocked/jailbroken.

anything i need to know or say when i take it in?

Did you solve your issues. I did the same thing, plugged in my phone to sync some new music and it said there were new carrier settings. Since then, I get zero wifi. I looked online and found there are a TON of people with this issue. I guess it happened when all of them upgraded to 3.0.x. Apple has known about the issue since around June or maybe earlier and have done nothing about it. I am wondering if others have the same problem here.

Weird. I have unlocked close to 100 phones and once in awhile they just go black but always come back when plugged in to the computer. I am assuming you tried the home and power button hold?

yes, i know yours isnt unlocked which makes it even weirder. As long as your phone hasn't been wet, I am sure apple will replace it

when i took it to the apple store, they just re-formatted it and installed the up to date OS. took them like 15 mins, but i lost everything i had saved (b/c i never synced it)

they didn't even ask me if i'm still under warranty (maybe their system knows )
they just took it, fixed it and gave it back without asking or explaining anything to me (they didn't seem to care really)

At least they fixed it. I had my screen replaced on my phone a couple months back cause an entire row wouldn't respond to any touch. It happened again so they replaced phone about a month ago. Now the wifi doesn't work and the battery last half as long as it did before I updated the phone last week. The nearest apple store is 40 minutes away. Getting rather annoyed.
