If I buy an unlocked phone, am I able to go to my service provider and add insurance?
Just wondering, I'm in the market for a new phone, and am trying to save a little money by buying one on amazon.com, and it says "unlocked" which I believe simply means I can put my SIM card in it and have it active instantly. Now, being somewhat clumsy, I'd like to be able to put insurance on it, especially when I dropped a good chunk of change on it. Am I able to go up to like a kiosk in the mall of my service provider and put insurance on a phone I didn't buy from them? Yes/no?

Pretty sure you can get insurance for just about anything, you just have to pay and you should know that the replacement part of the insurance might be fulfilled with an "equivalent" phone. There's a way, the trouble might be how to find someone to get it done. Not all places will provide coverage (thru your carrier) but somebody somewhere will I think.
