I bought a TMobile MDA
Pretty cool PDA/Phone
It is about the size of some of the Nokia smart phones I have seen. Seems to work pretty well.
I like small phones and although this is a lot smaller than I thought it would be it aint tiny. We will see if like it enought to keep it.
The thing is i needed a PDA and I hate carrying around both.
it has
Wifi, edge, bluetooth and runs on WM 5.0., slide out qwerty keyboard
pretty happy so far, but I have only had it for 1 day.

If you are not planning to type a lot, this is the best "phone sized" smartphone around.
GPRS/EDGE, bluetooth, W-Fi, Outlook sync.

I just got the srint pocket pc 6700, which is better than the MDA. I did a lot of research and testing of both, but the pocket pc was beter. It's more powerful, has more memory and the wireless network that sprint and verizon are on rival my companies basic dsl speed. Also the build of the phone is much better than the tmobile phone. And watching movies on the phone is a better experience for me. My friend and i both have 2 gig cards and movies on his phone are jumpy and lose sync, while my PPC maintains frame rates and sync perfectly. The MDA is a great unit though, and it would have served my purposes equally as well. But, the Tmobile Edge network doesnt touch the EVDO network of the other guys.

Lets hear
pros & cons about this phone... I'm interested in a PDA phone... I looked at the reviews for this phone on cnet, but they said the software is a little slow and the keyboard is not well lit.
I'm in the market cause my Treo 650 is getting old..but performs remarkable

Stupid question but do you have to pay for a service in order to browse the web via wifi?
Im thinking of moving from my moto A630 to the SDA.

As a note, I believe you can even get the phone free after rebate at amazon.com with new service. NO internet connection required.

I called Tmobile and told them i was gonan switch to verizon.
They offered me the SDA or MDA for $199 without rebates. Should i do it? If so... which one.
also they said to use the wifi its like $25 extra a month for the service.

I looked at the SDA....screen is too small to really surf.
MDA met my needs perfectly. Big screen..can run aps.. great for surfing
I love logging on while in the car and downloading directions from wherever I am. That is fucking great!

How does the MDA differ from the Sidekick. I'm not looking for a phone REPLACEMENT, but like, a compliment to my phone. My problem with PDA's is lack of an attatched keyboard, lack of AIM/SMS, etc. I've already got T-mobile service and i'm pretty sure they let you get a Sidekick/possibly an MDA to your current service plan with their data plan. What are your thoughts?
