Looks interesting.

I signed up for the beta.

How secure is it? I would guess not much as every file has a web link, meaning every file would be publicly accessible?

How do you use it Stogie?

I just got invited (I thought it was exclusive....)

The security is supposed to be 256 bit encryption, haven't looked to see how thoroughly it uses it though.

I really haven't started using yet, but I like the idea of having files accessible from anywhere, without having to send them to myself at gmail. I can upload a Cryptainer volume containing all my personal stuff so if I lose a CC, I can have the card number and the 800 number for the card available, as long as I have access to the web and have my thumbdrive with cryptainer on it.

Also, I think you can have private colaborative folders with other users, so you can share files with others.

Additionally, I think you can drop pictures into the pictures folder, and it auto creates a gallery, and others can add to it as well.

Haven't really explored it much.

It strikes me as a net wide version of sharepoint.

Do you have any invites?

I think there is a waiting list. Strangely, I have not received a confirmation email yet for my signup. I wonder if I typed in my email address wrong?

What is Cryptainer? Is it encryption software that uses a thumbdrive for a key? What happens if you lose the thumbdrive?

Thanks!

Cryptainer looks good! I like the fact that you can create a container on a thumbdrive and not have to install the software on the computer to access it.

I uploaded a Cryptainer volume to my gmail account, and starred the message, so if I ever need the info, I just browse to it, and voila!

Good idea!

I was thinking doesn't gmail have a 20mb limit on attachments? Then I thought about it... Just make a smaller container!

Thanks man! It's very much like live mesh but currently live mesh is PC only but soon it will be for mobile and Macs, it also allows remote access to your other computers. I'll actually use this though cause it works with mac and there's this girl I want to share files with so thanks man I'll put this to use tomorrow!
