Connection issue between Nexus 7 and Windows 7
So, I'm trying to connect my Nexus 7 (2012) to my computer for the first time.
When I plug in the USB cord, nothing appears to happen for both devices.
What am I doing wrong? Embarrass me.
Android version is 4.4.2 on this tablet. Just did the update couple days ago.

or just use a sledge hammer
PS you can also try on your phone Settings > Storage > 3 dots > USB connection. Check if MTP is ticked. If it is try to tick PTP to see if your device will then be recognized. (Reboot)

I don't think windows 7 comes by default with MTP drivers.

This thread came to mind when I read about this:

Didn't even consider that attack vector.

Juice-jacking as a threat probably first crept into the collective paranoia of gadget geeks in the summer of 2011, after I wrote a story about two researchers at the DefCon hacker convention in Vegas who’d set up a mobile charging station designed to educate the unwary to the fact that many mobile devices (particularly Apple devices) are set up to connect to a computer and immediately sync data.
