Best place to buy a phone

My contract is up so I am eligible for a new phone. I went into the verizon store yesterday and the prices are pretty damn high. I am sure there are better places to get a new phone. Is ebay the best place to go? Are there any good online retailers? Anything specific to be careful about on ebay?

Yes, I am currently looking for a place/vendor to buy new phones with contracts like bimmer88 did before he stopped. If anyone knows of a place like that, please let me know, thank you.

My words of advice: READ THE FINE PRINT!!!!

Mail-in rebates suck. They have such ridiculous timeframes for mailing in the rebates and they'll claim they lost them, never received them.

If you go the MIR route, make multiple copies of everything. Send them registered mail, delivery receipt, signature required....

Buyer beware.

Far as Verizon Phones go, you really wont find them much cheaper than the price at the store, unless you look on ebay, but not from a respected dealer or website, because they are CDMA and you cant just pop a sim card into any phone like GSM Carriers, so you are pretty much out of luck, you should call Verizon and Maybe threaten to Cancel and when you get to the Retentions Dept, Tell them you hate your phone and you want a certain phone and you will stay if you get it with a renewal

You should consider going to an authorized reseller for Verizon. They are usually more willing to give you a deal on phones. If not, call Verizon up and talk to their CS people. I have found dealing with them is easier than the sales people at the stores.

Amazon.

If you buy a phone in a store, the salesperson is getting paid selling it to you. If you buy the phone on Amazon, they take that $$ off the price of the phone.
