Audio Software Question
I've been into audio mixing for a couple years now, though I'm only 20. I grew up on it. So, for the most part I am familiar with computer software audio editing programs...however I have come upon a relatively easy problem that has been stumping me.
Ok...JLMaxR1 downloaded and burned 4 separate CD's...the only problem is that he downloaded an entire 70 some-odd minute track. Basically just one continuous mix...but ONE file. In other words, you can still play it in any CD player, but you'd have to fast forward through the whole CD to get to any part...since it is ONE track. Am I making any sense?
Anyways, what I wanna do is use the computer to cut the tracks. We already have the time allotted that we wanna cut at, but don't have a good method to do so. I have Sound Forge XP, and the only way I am aware to take a file off of a CD and convert it to mp3 is to record by using the record feature on the program. Basically hit cue your source program, hit record in SF, and play source. It always works. I just don't want to have to sit and listen to it play for 70 some odd minutes waiting for it to record to mp3.
Simple problem...I must be missing something, but how do I convert the CD track to mp3?? Does anyone have any suggestions of mp3 "rippers" that I can download on the internet?
All suggestions is appreciated, and thank you for the time! This is a long a$$ post!

JLMaxR1 has just informed me that he has the actual mp3's still on his hard drive. JLMaxR1 does not communicate information well.
