They are 128kbps AAC encoded. Try the 30-sec samples to see if you like the quality. Worst case, it will only cost you a buck to try an entire song. Drink enough Pepsi, it might even be free.

I've used iTunes (win & Mac) for ripping CD's using the VBR highest quality setting. On my equipment, I could not hear any diff between that and songs encoded with "LAME -r3mix".

Quality sucks. DC++ is better, and FREE.

Spent $15 on that service. Not one song has good sound.

Nah, just tilt the bottes about 40 degrees to see the inside of the cap. No code = no iTunes.

Great question. I have yet to find a nice working system that let's you burn songs to CDs and play them as you go.

Oh yeah, I'd read about that on Slashdot and forgot. We don't have that promo here in Canada, so I've never seen the bottles.

I "occasionally" download musics from WinMX (yes, I shouldn't)

I've tried a few MP3 softwares. I personally like iTune cuz it's easy to organize a library. In turns of burning CDs or converting formats (MP3-WMA-WMV), I use MusicMatch Jukebox. There is free version with limited functions, but it's good enough.

I tried burn CDs with Nero, MusicMatch Jukebox and Window Media Player. Both Nero and MusicMatch Jukebox give equally good result and also allow you to simulate the burning. And Window Media Player, well, it sucks.

If you have some exotic music formats to convert, you can try GermaniX Encoder. It's power and free as well.

i use nero which is pretty good. just wanted to know some good places where i can get some high quality mp3s. i dont mind paying a dollar for a song as long as its top notch stuff, otherwise ill buy the cd. one thing i dont like about itunes is that they make you pay, and limit what you can do with the song.

I download from Walmart. It's $0.88 a song and you can burn it up to 10 times to any CD-R you want.

Only thing I don't like about it is that the files must be played in Windows media, winamp won't play them, so you can't just scroll through your current mp3 playlist, you have to search for your songs or create another list for Windows media player. Also, the selection is actually very limited - so if youre looking for that song you remember from the 90s that no one else seems to remember, you're out of luck.
