PSA for those with 6's and 7's. Don't forget to get your batteries exchanged via Apple Store by EOY! I'm going to get my dad's replaced this week and mom's next week.
$29 versus $99 or whatever.

It goes up to $49 Jan 1st.
not a terribly large jump. But yes get it taken care of if you can.
also note when I got mine replaced last week, They said the service time is a lot longer since everyone is trying to get theirs changed before EOY.
i waited 2 hours for mine.

That's what I've been thinking, too.
I wonder if there's a mixup. The XS and XS Max can do a kind of portrait mode focusing with dogs and flower vases, but it's very hard to do with an XR, nearly impossible.
If they say for sure they're doing it, I believe them, but I know it's nearly impossible.

And I am surprised people are not talking more about eSIM and multiple cellular plans on a single XR, XS or XS Max.
In other venue, it's about all that people want to talk about.

My bad, I missed the part about it being an XR. I remember doing it on my 7 Plus, even.

I'm just starting to use iMessage more for work group chats, and I get notifications that I'm mentioned. Google only showed results for enabling that option, didn't clarify on how to do it.
I thought using "@namehere" would do it, but I guess just mentioning someone's name will do it?

Yeah, there's an option to enable when you are mentioned in an iMessage group chat. As you know my name is pretty common - not sure how it works exactly when there's 2+ people with the same name.
Well, I work at Apple now... not surprising that everybody here uses iMessage. Slack? What's that?

Went in on 12/31 for my appt and turns out everyone had the same idea so the part needed to be ordered Got a callback on Monday that I need to come in by the end of the week so I'll go in on Saturday to get it replaced.. Quoted 2-4 hours. Still got in at the $29 price though

he says in the iPhone thread
Yeah well, there is an Apple Hardware thread, but no Apple Software thread, and I figured you guys were more familiar with it, plus this page is near the top and more active, and also criticism makes my hardware become software so no I didn't search for the software thread

If you have Android people in your group, it's a challenge getting everybody to agree to an application that's available to both iOS and Android, offers equivalent security, and which application allows full-on high quality video.
So most iMessage people just try to ignore the Android people.

iMessage is a huge, huge advantage to Apple.

I think Google's missing a chance with the Pixel, to do with Android what Apple has done with iOS; namely, tailor the operating system and hardware to each other.
Perhaps if they did that, other manufacturers would accuse them of something, but it seems to me they're missing the chance to make Android something special by concentrating how to improve its performance relative to the Pixel.

What warrants the 30.3% price increase ($99 --> $129) over prior model?
