Anyone have a Sandisk Sansa mp3 player?

I just got the e270 6gb with microsd expandable for $38 shipped. I have all my songs uploaded, but you have to use Rockbox firmware to use a SDHC microSD.

I uploaded the songs to the microSD that I have but the rockbox firmware seems to place it in its own category and it doesnt merge with the rest of my library all in the "database" folder. Therefore its kind of worthless, cuz if I just want to shuffle all my songs I have to decide from the "database" folder, or the "microSD" folder on the sansa.

None of you probably know what I'm talking about..but maybe someone does.

I have a Sansa clip and a C250, so, Hi! Neither are Rockboxed, so, Sorry! Maybe you can make a playlist of all your songs and shuffle that?

Was your Sansa from Woot! "the Sansa Outlet"?

It's from buy.com reconditioned...it works perfect, love it for how cheap it is.

Like you said I'd like to have one playlist with all those songs merged...I just dont know how..the rockbox firmware seperates the stuff on the SDHC card and the stuff on the sensa's internal memory.

If you're using MTP mode, does it show two different storage devices or just one? I might guess with MSC mode, you'd see two. Maybe in MTP, you can create a playlist that spans the two storage devices.

I'm using MSC mode, I dont know the difference between both. Basically I have it rockboxed..and on the mp3 player itself, I can go to a folder named "datbase" and it has all the songs I synced from windows media player. Then there is a seperate folder in rockbox called something like "microsd" and in there I have all the songs transferred to the microsd card. I want to somehow be able to listen on shuffle to all those songs at once. You understand what I mean?

My iPods can each access their entire (160GB / 8GB / 1GB) at one time.

I hate simple, elegant designs like that. Where can I find software to divide them all into two virtual iPods?

If you change to MTP mode, Windows Media Player should see your Sansa as a music device and you should be able to add/change music on it that way. You can also create playlists from the songs that are on it.

No it syncs perfectly fine with music on my computer in windows media player...what I'm saying is I manually have to add songs to my microSD card...and when I put it into the sansa, using rockbox firmware it seperates it.
