Anything that requires that much explanation couldn't have been all that bad.

1994 NBA finals....Knicks vs. Rockets.

All i can remember is John Starks goin 1 for 16 in game 6 when the knicks could have won the championship. Then he takes the last shot, a 3 pointer!!!! Always hurts to remember that game. Of course the rockets go on to win the finals in 7 games. Poor Ewing, fuckin Starks!!!!

Although I am not old enough to experience this, I know many people who have been cursed by this and many other Philly sports collapses/chokes. Good example

fookin Derick Fisher in game 5 last year 2nd round playoff match

Made the shot with .3 seconds left. the worst part about it, the camera angle was so good you could tell the ball was going to go in the bucket!

What makes matters worse is that the very first baseball game I ever went to started that 10 game losing streak against the Cincy Reds. (Yep - I saw Pete Rose play as a rookie in old Connie Mack Stadium). Maybe I'm the one who cursed them! (j/k)

IIRC, Starks scored 16pts in the 4Q and was on a major roll. Off a screen, he went for a game winning trifecta that was blocked by Olajuwon. Starks was HOT in game 6 (27pts). However, he stunk up the place in Game 7 (2-18, 8pts w/0-11 in 3pt range). :shakehead

Last year Derek Harper came to my job to speak for an event. The topic of his speech was teamwork, and his whole speech was centered around that playoff series. He talked about how that was his only best chance to win a championship.

10 years later, and he was still pretty bitter about it.

Last football season, Michigan State University, 3rd OT loss to Univ. of Michigan. Considering the rivalry between the two schools, it was a huge upset.

I hate the way U of M plays football. It's so gay.

You're calling Michigan State gay? Compared to U of M?

Watching Michigan play football is like watching a one-man show. It's boring, has no creativity, and it's always one man with the ball. One of these seasons, they might not have a star running back, and State will demolish them. That might not matter, anyway, with Drew Stanton. I have high hopes against Michigan next season.

I would say the team that is consistently better is the better team. Therefore, Michigan > Michigan State

I don't think you can judge teams solely based on how often they win.

i will also have to go with The U's "loss" to Ohio State. It wasn't pass interference!!!

2002 Auburn/UGA....Johnson making an unbelieveable catch to win it for the damn Dawgs. Worst part about it is that you can see me in the picture to his immediate left. My image was burned into the one thing I dont care to ever remember.

I see this is an OLD thread but my most painful loss is when my 49ers lost to the Giants in the NFC Championship game back in 1990. Roger Craig just HAD to fumble that ball! I am STILL mad about that. They would have beaten Buffalo, and have been the first and only team to this date to win 3 straight Super Bowls!
