The Worst/Painful Loss in Sports History

Yea, my Eagles lost another championship game yesterday.. But, it's not the worst..
The most painful moment for me was last year's NFC Championship game..

Panthers Eagles in 2004.

'91 NBA Finals.

MJ and the Bulls beating the Lakers in 5 games, after LA won game 1 with a last second Sam Perkins 3 pointer.

Then the Bulls won 4 straight. Most of the games were close, especially game 5, when John Paxson went nuts in the 4th quarter and torched the Lakers.

Since then, it's been great. I'm a Pats and Lakers fan. Not much to complain about.

It shouldn't have come down to that but that game still hurts - the 2001 SuperBowl too, we got killed

The 03 Cubs was a big one.

I personally would have to say the 1994 Eastern Conference Semifinals Bulls vs Knicks. The Bulls took the Knicks to game 7, but lost it at the end. It would have been great to see the Bulls have a chance to win 4 straight, considering they just lost the greatest player in NBA history.

Carolina losing to BC in the '94 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament might be the toughest for me. That butcher Danya Abrams gave Derrick Phelps a concussion, and was allowed to stay in the game, while Carolina had to play the rest of the game without its point guard because of a cheap, dirty foul on a fast break layup attempt. We were expected to win the title that year, with three unbelievable freshmen, Jeff McInnis, Jerry Stackhouse, and Rasheed Wallace, joing four returning starters from the previous year's National Champions.

I'm old enough (barely) to remember the collapse of the 64 Phillies. How you lose a 6 game lead with 10 games left to play is still beyond my wildest comprehension. Blaming the manager for going with a 3-man rotation down the stretch still defies the odds of blowing it like they did.

Remember the old Foster's Lager commercial ("Fosters...Austrailian for beer")...I always thought that they should have:

"Greg Norman....Austrailian for "choke""

that guy's history in Golf majors is just sick.

BTW, ESPN had top 25 chokes on about a month ago...alot of our posts made the list.
