UFC 76: Iceman vs Jardine, Shogun vs Forrest Griffin...

Will be updating this thread tonight with the vids to the event.

Here are my predictions:

Iceman over Jardine in round 3 via TKO.

Shogun over Forrest in round 2 via TKO.

Rumors:

1. Iceman faces Wanderlei Silva in December if he wins tonight without any injuries. Dana White confirmed this in an interview he did on Sirius radio. (Source: www.mmanews.com)

2. Shogun faces Rampage for the belt if he wins tonight.

Why should you care?

Even the most casual fan of MMA knows Iceman, so he needs no introduction. But, for those of you who have never heard of Shogun, he's considered by many as the #1 Light Heavyweight in the world currently. (Same weightclass as Liddell, Silva and Rampage Jackson) When he was with Pride, he never capture the title because the title was held by his then-teammate/friend Wanderlei Silva. But, now he's in the UFC & this guy means business. Don't believe me? Peep the video below to wet your appetite. See you all later on tonight

no sweat. Ok, I'm going to post the vids within the next 5 minutes. Most of the links are going to be Rapidshare...sorry. I hate RS as much as the next person, but they are the only ones that are ULing tonight. I'll try to look for MegaULs later.

I agree. Some people are now questioning whether or not all these Pride Elite were taking substance over there in Japan. I mean, the difference in performance between Pride Cro Cop & Shogun are almost night and day. I honestly could not believe how easily Shogun was gassing out come second round. One thing for sure though, I will never try to sell another Pride fighter to my MMA-newbie friends ever again

Seriously, If the man in my avatar loses in his debut if he ever comes to UFC I'm gonna find a very heavy jacket and set my furniture on fire cuz hell just froze over.

It's disappointing to see some of the hyped up Pride fighters lose. It's like they're getting teed up for bigger and better things (win this fight, get shot at title the next) but they keep underachieving against opponents that are essentially hand-picked for them.

I agree Fedor is a beast and hopefully he will have a shot at the UFC's best before he passes his prime.

I just can't believe that Rua was gassing out on the second round. He came from pride and their first rounds are 10 minutes long! Starting to think that all this UFC hype is rigged. Just like when they gave Bisping the win over Hamil

True, but Rampage has already taken out the Iceman in Pride as well. So i guess that means Shogun should easily wip up on Rampage considering he totally owned him and broke his ribs in Pride.

I'm certain next time you see some of the Pride Guys they will do alot better. Don't judge them off their first fight. They are alot better then what they displayed.

I think you can just about stick a fork into Mirko Cro Cop ... it just seems like he lost the eye of the tiger and unless Apollo Creed helps him find it, it's not turning up any time soon.

For the most part, with very few exceptions, ferocity wanes with age and constant wear-and-tear ... and I think a lot of mainstream fans have missed the prime of Cro Cop (already 33 and with over 30 fights to his name).

I feel like so many of these champions win a bunch of fights, get comfy, and then start to lose. I'd like to see some consistency, but then again with such a high frequency fights and with such a contact sport...anyone can catch an unlucky punch/kick...

Although...I've been shocked lately by recent bouts but I don't see Rich Franklin putting a hurt on him in their next fight.

If Paulo Filho manages to get his hands on Silva like lutter did, Silva will have no chance of getting back up like he did against Lutter.

I saw that Lutter/Silva over the weekend again and it was closer than I remembered. Man UFC talent stepped up in the past year. Even Nick Diaz is down in that Showtime league.
