Yea who's the genius that thought it would be a good idea to schedule the games during Lunar New Year. Especially in an Asian country

FWIW, it is a nice stretch of days off and so, maybe the rationale was that people who are not working would go attend the events?
Then you realize, are notorious for being afraid of the cold. Think of all the people who had Moms run after them to put on a sweater or jacket when it's like 90 degrees out.

Anyways, it's just a slapstick hypothesis...I got nothing. Maybe people are staying away because they worried Kimmy will fire a nuke there?

Shaun White should have been disqualified for throwing his helmet into the crowd like that. That was completely reckless and could possibly have killed or seriously injured someone. Super unsportsmanlike conduct.

Figure skating stadium is again only partially filled. For the supposedly flagship event of the Games, there's no sugar coating this. And you can't blame the weather/ cold with it being indoors.

Well if the US would get a gold medal for anything, it'd be the sport of litigiousness
Did Shaun White kill your family dog or something? Previous incident with an airborne helmet? What's with the bitterness?

Watching some ski jumping right now. The stands are barely 1/10 filled. And all the camera angles conveniently point away from the stands. They are also blaring the music on high volume to prevent total silence.
I wonder if this affects any of the athletes. You train 4 years to go to the biggest stage and when you get there, no one is watching.

I don't care if Shaun White wins or loses. Don't get the appeal of snowboarding at all. I'm a skier.

I've got ski helmets, so I know that these things aren't that heavy. But a helmet even falling one story down can injure someone or cause a serious concussion. And yes, maybe kill an infant.

I see infants at the ski slope all the time. Last time it was -10 and some guy was carrying a baby.

She blew out her knee in World Championships in 2013 at the age of 29. She missed Sochi due to re-injuring it multiple times. I haven’t seen the Olympic coverage, but the highlight is her perseverance in the face of adversity.
