i always thought that you only need to put your hand over your heart when you pledge allegiance to the flag... not when the national anthem is being played/sung... i always just removed my hat and faced the flag at attention hands to the sides if i wasn't in the band playing it.

Pole vaulting had me on the edge of my seat today. The French guy going for gold and a WR and cleared it by two feet only only to hit the pole with his belly on the way down. Miss! The Brazilian made the height, broke a record and won gold!

Ah shit I saw some of that but I was watching the China/Brazil female team volleyball. From what I saw WJ/Ross weren't 100% sharp
Anyone see the women's floor exercise? Holy shit Simone and Aly's routines were fucking incredible. Aly's was very classic in the moves and even the music. Reminded me of the 80's Olympics. Biles was holy shit athletic and had some great flavor including some classic Brazilian music. Both of them jump high as hell. I was astounded.

Well safe to say it's been a good games for the USA. Yes, some upsets like men's and women's vball (who cares about those anyways?) but they also pulled off some upsets of their own like in women's 100m freestyle and .. yea.
