I'm saying they're not playing well. You're saying they're not playing well because of injuries, turnovers and a bad offense. Either way, they're not playing well. I understand WHY they're not playing well, but that doesn't deflect from the point that they're not playing well. It just so happens that they have valid excuses for not playing well.
Anyway, chalk up another victim to the Super Bowl runner-up hangover.

Can we please discount the points off of interception returns and etc. first please...?
Wow...dude, you're absolutely a box-score watcher and nothing else. Quote me the yardage and THEN we'll talk about the defense not playing well. Mkay? They are playing FINE. I never said the Bears D was not playing well. Are they struggling? Don't think so. You're going off of "Okay, the Bears allowed points because of a turnover at say the 15 yard line of their own territory...so, yeah...the D is no good."
Are you serious?

But you also can't be serious that they played well because they got six sacks. And you can't be serious that I literally meant the Bears have NO DEFENSE. C'mon. I mean, geez, I never said they were the Bengals.
But I don't think the Bears defense strikes fear in opponents any more. They are just missing too many key people. If you want to talk specifically yardage, the Bears aren't good either. When all is said and done, the Bears will end up being a mediocre defense.

And opponents scoring points off of a tired defense or from working with a short field again does not signify a poor Chicago defense.
Please don't get me wrong as some blinded fan who can't see the forest for the trees. I know where the team blows...and until something is done to address those areas on Offense, not even the 1984 defense will help.

Thank goodness hockey season is starting and the Cubbies are in the playoffs...

I'm going to have to generally agree w/ Yumchah on this one - I think the defense for the Bears is pretty good - I know you say you were being sarcastic when you said they have no D, NE, but even saying that their D sucks isn't very accurate. However, at this point I think we've pretty much argued this down to an agreement. From now on, definitives (i.e. "No D") shouldn't be used unless they're very very close to being accurate.

hell, I didn't even know the Raiders were still playing in the NFL.

Holding LT and LJ to sub-100 yards of rushing is average defending...? You do realize that the Bears were very much in the Cowboys tilt until Grossman self-destructed, right...?

And don't be fooled. Holding down LT and LJ this year is not like holding them down last year. Both of those teams are a mess. ... Thank God.

What the hell the Jets lost to the Bills, Dallas blows out St. Louis, and the Cards beat the Steelers. Bunch of other upsets too, odd day in the NFL.

For What It's Worth Stat:
The 34 points given up by the Bears in the 4th quarter were the most EVER given up in a 4th quarter. By any team. In NFL history.

I only kick Scottard's team. And that's on principle. And okay...maybe Green Bay. But, that's a given and pre-req.
