Yeah be we are all looking from the outside on his situation. Granted he doesn't deserve much "love" from people considering what he did do, but people make mistakes. Also, just because he failed a test doesn't mean he hadn't stopped smoking. If you are a chronic smoker, it can stay in your system for 60 days.

The Atlanta Falcons have asked their troubled quarterback Michael Vick to return more than $16 million in bonus money in a case that will be argued in a hearing Thursday, according to sources with knowledge of the case.

The Falcons contend that Vick should return the money because his recent guilty plea to federal dogfighting charges puts him in violation of the 10-year, $130 million contract he signed in December 2004.

If you read more into that article the players union says they doubt Vick will have to payback any of that money.

I'm too lazy to reread it, but apparently there is a "bylaw" that pretty much says if the bonus is earned then the Owners cannot request the money be returned. Since Vick signed the contract a couple years ago, the union states he is safe. The Falcons are going to argue that Vick entered the contract fraudulently (sp?) so they are owed the money.

The Falcons are claiming that Vick signed his contract knowing he was involved in a criminal activity that eventually got him suspended.

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio is reporting that Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has lost an arbitration hearing, meaning he will be ordered to re-pay the Falcons $19.9 million in bonus money the team has previously paid him.

It's a surprising ruling, given that the same arbitrator previously ruled in favor of wide receiver Ashley Lelie in a similar dispute with the Denver Broncos. It is not clear in what way the arbitrator saw the Vick case as different from the Lelie case.

The Falcons were alleging that by pleading guilty to federal conspiracy charges, Vick was violating the 10-year, $130 million contract he signed. The arbitrator apparently agreed.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) -- Michael Vick's old jersey has been removed from his high school's trophy case because of his conviction on a federal dogfighting charge.

The suspended NFL quarterback played for two seasons at Warwick High School from 1996-97 before going on to stardom Virginia Tech and being drafted first overall by the Atlanta Falcons in 2001. In August, he pleaded guilty to the federal charge, admitting that he helped kill six to eight dogs, and will be sentenced Dec. 10.

Michelle Price, a spokeswoman for the Newport News Public Schools, said Warwick High School principal Varinda Robinson decided to take the jersey down shortly after Vick entered his plea.

"It stayed up through the allegations, but they did decide to take it down once he admitted some guilt," Price said.

She said school officials received no outside pressure to remove the jersey, deciding on their own that "it was the right thing to do."

"I don't think it's caused any controversy," she said.

Price doubted the jersey would be returned to the trophy case.

I was listining to PTI yesterday and Tony Kornholer was saying that Vick dosent have the money to pay back the 20 million bonus. Wasn't he the highest paid QB in the league?

Yea, but he got that $20 mill on top of what he's been paid all these years in the NFL and in fronting a dog fighting operation. And I'm sure he has assets like houses he will have to sell. He couldnt have spent all that money on weed, rimz and his homies?? Could he?

don't forget about the taxes he's paid on it - those came out of his pocket (20m @ 35% = 7m) and the Falcons are asking for all 20m. he can get a refund from the gov't, but that often takes much more time than the Falcons are giving him.

Vick getting sued again - http://www.wtkr.com/Global/story.asp?S=7225326

Wachovia Sues Michael Vick Over $1.3 Million Wine Shop Loan

Wachovia Bank is seeking about $940,000 from Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick and a business partner, saying they defaulted on a loan.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank claims that since Vick's indictment on federal dogfighting charges, the two defaulted on a 2006 loan to set up a wine shop and restaurant.

In the federal lawsuit, the bank says Vick, partner Gerald Frank Jenkins and their Atlantic Wine & Package LLC have failed to make monthly payments of principal and interest. The lawsuit also says Vick's obligations are impaired due to his recent indictment on federal dogfighting charges.

Wachovia claimed in the suit that it loaned the two $1.3 million in May 2006.

Vick already has been sued by an Indiana bank that claims he failed to repay at least $2 million in loans for a car rental business, and by a Canadian bank that claims he owes more than $2.3 million for real estate investments.

Yeah this is just an example of EVERYTHING back firing on you for doing stupid shit. This is the worst case scenario, but yet he hasn't even been sentenced to jail yet. He may want a longer sentence, so he won't have to worry about how he's going to pay for food when he's out

Kinda like Vick playing real-life Monopoly!

You know where in the late-game stages, the entire row with Boardwalk, Parkplace, Pacific Ave. and etc. etc. are all run with hotels? Yeah, you WANT to be in jail and not pass Go and not collect your $200 dollars. Y'know?

Vick's Atlanta house for sale!!

http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sp..._13_16_id331_e

Only $23,000 a month.

I looked up his property on our county tax website, and he has $13,000 due for the 2nd installment of his tax bill.
