McCaffrey out for awhile. Stars dropping like flies.
ESPN was reporting there are two times as many injuries right now than usual. CMC stings because he's my fantasy back. But Barkley is out for the season. Many other RB1s dinged up (Mostert, Montgomery). WR1s dinged up (Adams, Jones). Locke is out, Jimmy G is wounded.....that's just offense too.
Maybe the pre-season isn't the risk we all thought it was.
These Sea/Pats games give me heart attacks. Down to the last play......
Losses are tough but I think NE has to be really encouraged by what they see in Cam. And his being "in sync" with Edelman is insane. Cam might be worth more than just the one-year deal.
Agree also with Wilson's deep ball - completely nuts. To five different receivers too.....
Lot of football left but Cam looks great so far. We'll see how the season finishes but Cam might want top dollar if he continues to play like this and deservedly so. Will NE pay him, prob not
The NFL fined a handful of coaches for not wearing masks on the sidelines during Sunday’s games and that led many to suggest more fines were coming after watching Monday night’s game.
Raiders head coach Jon Gruden and Saints head coach Sean Payton were both shown without masks on many times during ESPN’s broadcast from Las Vegas. The two coaches and their teams heard from the league on Tuesday.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the two teams were each fined $250,000 and the two coaches were fined $100,000 each for violating the rule put in place for this season. Those are the same amounts that the 49ers, Seahawks and Broncos were fined after Kyle Shanahan, Pete Carroll and Vic Fangio were found to be in violation on Sunday.
Some have argued that the mandate for face coverings on the sideline is extraneous given the daily testing of players — who aren’t masked on the field — and coaches around the league. The league has not shown any sign of rescinding the mandate at this point.
None of the players on the sidelines are wearing masks. The entire organization from the owner to the equipment manager is test 1000x a week. There is no need for the masks. Its all for show.
If you elect to wear it on your own, then all the power to you, but being fined for wearing it is stupid

It's definitely for show. To extend this just sliiiiiiiightly off topic...all the anti-racism stuff you see on the field/helmets/etc. are all for show as well. The owners and the league knows to NOT do those things would be big PR backlash which would cut into their profit...so all for show.
But then again, NFL is a private, for-profit business...and they will do everything they can to maximize profit....even if it is just PR stunts like those masks and the whole anti-racism stuff....

Large, public entities like the NFL often have to do things to "make the correct appearance" - because as you say not doing them would be far worse. I'm not sure why they are falling on their sword over the head coaches, because them not wearing masks has a perfectly plausible explanation. But maybe it's because they are on camera a lot? To "set an example"?
As for the protests, I'm quickly falling into that category that is tired of the demonstrations and would like to see actual action. Not that I find the demonstrations invalid by any means. But I'm done with the talk, done with "keeping the conversation going", done with the signs and slogans. I want to see our government actually do something.
Took about 2.5 games for Nagy to see enough of Mitch.
Foles in relief helps Bears come back from infinity against the Falcons. But, it was Atlanta. I need to see more before I believe. Bears are still middling to me even at 3-0.
Mitch's deep throws are always overthrown. If a D -- even as poor as Atlanta's -- is not scared of the deep throw, they'll just always play for the dink and dunk which well, is going to make the offense that much more stagnant. One pass in particular was awful from Mitch to a wide-open WR...just overthrown. And then, the INT...yeah, that was enough. I dunno, it's pretty sad as Trubisky is a good guy and works very hard. But, the Bears offense is the moon to him right now and he either is not a fit for Chicago's system or even worse, the NFL. I still believe QBs are often the byproduct of the system but to some extent, they need to execute too. You have to think Chicago has done everything it can to cater their offense to Mitch's abilities but he's still not getting it done.
The sad part is Mahomes was still on the board and Chicago traded up for this guy. Pace has this on him forever. I also don't know if Chicago can go back to Mitch as QB unless Foles goes down to injury. It's Nick's team at this point going forward, you'd think.
I'm indifferent to the Cowboys so, don't call me a hater but, is it just me or is Prescott kinda overrated?
He has a pretty decent O-line and ALOT of weapons on offense.
I think Dak might be in a situation where it's difficult to tell unless you have more inside information.
His stat line today was solid - 472 yards passing 3 TDs, but 2 INT. But the INTs can be overcome. Rushed for 26 more. So when almost 500 yards of offense is passing through your QB it's hard to say he's the problem. But he was also only 37 of 57. That's not great.
I can only really ramble on but he's always been puzzle to me. He seems like he should be having more success than he has. He appears to have the physical skills to be a top 5 QB. He's surrounded by talent that by all measures should be killing it. Once could point to the coach but he's got a new one. Yet they seem challenged to rise above 8-8 (ish) seasons.....
The only common denominator is Jones. But I've no idea how much or how little he interferes with the team.

And, you know, GO HAWKS!!!!!
Again, when you have that many weapons on offense, it sorta makes a QB with a decent arm and some mobility have a pretty easy job. If Wilson had that...
Anyways, not sold on the Prescott love frankly and I've seen him a couple games now. Seems rather overrated.
I'm impressed with the Bills so far. That team's had some misery and they have lots to look forward to.
And @ Tarik Cohen...he's likely done for the season.
the defensive pass interference call on the Rams was bullshit
The Allen “interception” was bs too.
I have a friend who has long proclaimed Josh Allen to be white Cam Newton, but this season I’ve turned it around and said Cam is the black Allen.

Hindsight is 20/20. Niners fans clung to the idea of “if only we drafted Rodgers instead of Alex Smith” during the dark ages, but it’s the wrong way of looking at it.
Andy Reid has shown that his offense works. No guarantees Mahomes would have the same success in Chicago. Likewise if Rodgers went to those god awful SF teams.
A good coping mechanism is to meme. Niners don’t have a god-tier QB? At least their fans grow up to make the best NFL QBs. Kaepernick, Goff, Brady, Rodgers, Allen

Yeah, that's what I tell myself regarding QBs and Chicago. The system has everything to do with the success of the player. The part that is frustrating is that I had HOPED that Mitch would be at least a consistent player behind center for the next several years. Nope. QB turnstile in Chicago continues.
