The reality is that this was actually a relatively smart move by the Raiders in that it was a practically no-risk deal. Yeah, they gave up a third- and fifth-round pick for him, but given the potential upside, that's basically nothing. The fact that they got that moron to sign a contract where they paid him $0 is hilarious and genius. Also, the fact that they had the balls to follow through and release him is great.

On the other hand, Josh Gordon plus Antonio Brown is going to be a problem for the rest of the league. However, if they destroy the team from within, it will be awesome.

No, he's an idiot. He left 21 million guaranteed on the table. His agent is definitely smart and was able to turn vinegar into honey. It definitely sounds like this deal was in place and agreed upon before AB's release which is shady, but Patriots gonna Patriot. Either way, no way AB orchestrated this or planned this to this degree, he was lucky that his agent was good with the damage control and knew a team like the Pats would pick him up.
