Soldier Field has not been necessarily kind to the Vikes but they have a pretty darn impressive D and that run-game is pretty good too. Mitch goes back to taking on a tough defense tomorrow afternoon and so, let's see what he's made of...though, if Bears go 0-2 against the division, yikes.

NFL should file grievances for his stupidity.

Oh look, I see the Pats are now amping up the cheating by playing with intent to injure. Good "hit" Jones. Take out the Bills' QB. Good stuff.

Regardless of how much cheap plays or cheating the Pats need to resort to, the Bills put up a great fight today. Liked what I saw to negate the NE shenanigans and keep it close.

Great slate of morning games, the majority of which went down to the last drive.

Yumcha, these Bears throwbacks are terrible.

Yeah, not sure I like the look...

Bears may have lost Mitch for the game. And D has lost 3 starters too. Let's see if they have the depth here.

They were able to get in his face very often. Shaq Barrett is looking like a monster this season. TB’s run defense is really good as well.

Bucs were brushed off as bottom dwellers this season for losing to the previously 4-12 49ers and to rookie QB Danny Dimes, but they’re better than they initially look.

I hope they do - I can pair Winston/Evans in FFB which would be great. But we've seen 2 "bad Winstons" and 2 "good Winstons". I hope it's not 50/50 the rest of the way....

The NFL as a whole made no damn sense this week.

Bucs set a franchise scoring record against LAR
Bunch of QBs without a single throwing TD (Prescott, Bridgewater, Cousins, Ryan....)
Browns hang 40 pts on the Ravens
Gallman walks in and scores more points than Barkley ever did
Cowboys and Saints combine for a mighty 5 FGs and 1 TD.
Bears > Vikings without their starting QB

Loving the Minshew magic though. He was fun to watch, especially on that last drive. And, you know, go Hawks!

You left out the fact that the Browns are leading the division. Only problem now is their schedule over their next three games (at SF, home against Seattle, and at Foxboro to play the Cheaters).

Cowboys played 3 horrible teams to start the season. Up against a good Saints D and at home, couldn't get anything going. Zeke wasn't able to get anything going. Cowgirls will be 9-7 this year.

Mahomes had 0 passing TDs in a dome game. Ugly AF game but we pulled it out at the last 2min...Mahomes 4th quarter come back drive was incredible

Can you imagine if an opposing defensive back did the same thing to TB12? The outrage from New England region would tear a hole in the space-time continuum

Burfict suspended for the rest of the season. I honestly don't know how they allow that dude to still be in the league at all. Almost killed another guy last night

Dudes like him are not NFL players. He seems like a criminal thug who happens to be athletic enough to make it onto an NFL team (hence why he's on defense side of the ball too where you just try to blow people up and don't have other specific skills/talents).

I wonder if certain actions are egregious enough to warrant criminal assault charges. Because what he does on the field is not football, it's straight up legal thuggery. He's hiding behind a NFL uniform to make it a career out of it.

Just checked out the video - Burfict hit the guy helmet to helmet when he was literally on his knees and heading to the ground. Guy deserves to go.

Technically, that's not true. He's just playing in the wrong era. I forget who it was, but some (Raiders?) player who is a Hall of Famer used to have a metal bar in a cast that they used to club people in the helmet with. Anecdotally, players say all the time that the most brutal place to be in is a pileup where they're fighting for the ball. They say biting, eye-gouging, and punching people in the groin all happens there. If you watch old clips, people used to launch directly into peoples' heads all the time specifically in order to knock them out, which is why receivers would never go over the middle. The point is, Burfict is dirty and a thug, but he's actually just average for what the NFL used to be. He just sticks out now because they're trying to mandate out any contact from the NFL. Some people like that, other people don't.

Also, now you basically can't even accidentally touch the quarterback -- even accidentally hitting their head with your hand is a personal foul, you can't hit them low, if you fall on them you have to hold your body weight off them -- and there are more QB injuries than ever, seemingly. You're also essentially not allowed to try to separate a receiver from the ball except by slapping their hands, when in the past even if they missed the catch you could demolish them.

That's true of almost all sports these days. The NBA used to be much more physical and the NHL definitely used to be more physical. Fans of all of the current games are trained to enjoy video game type of play, where it's all flash and finesse instead of getting pummeled and blindsided.

Kind of on the fence about Burfict. His reputation precedes him, and I think he definitely deserves a suspension. IMO he is a dirty player, and I hate the Raiders but a 12 game suspension seems extreme.

Seems like they took it up a notch this season. I was surprised to see Kwon Alexander get ejected so quickly in the Bucs game.

My qualms are with how the NFL seems to hand out arbitrary punishments. Assault and domestic violence are way worse than marijuana possession and even intentionally leading with your helmet, but that’s just me.

He gets suspended for the season but yet, no NE player gets anything?

Anyone just look at Brady, it's an auto-15 yard penalty and likely game toss.

I think the problem is that it's getting silly what constitutes a penalty. I've seen someone actually falling out of control and their hand hits the QB on the head and they draw a roughing the passer penalty. You've all heard announcers say "what was he supposed to do, levitate?" after a hit where someone supposedly didn't pull up fast enough. Even "late hits" aren't really late, many times. They're only late in slow motion, but in real life it's bang-bang. Everyone claims "player safety," but then everyone also agrees that football is "by definition, a violent sport." You can't mandate the violence out of it and it's boring watching people just march down a field. The only reason they're getting paid is because it's a violent sport. You wouldn't give someone $20 million a year to play badminton. And the joke is that even while people are allowed to hit less, the claims about CTE become more and more spectacular. Like any time someone breaks the law or shouts at a kid, it's "he has CTE." Yeah ...or, he just yelled at a kid because he yelled at a kid. Like people going "Antonio Brown changed immediately after that hit he took." That hit turned him into a cheapskate? That's amazing! I wonder what part of the brain has that function.

Also, assault and domestic violence should be criminally prosecuted and have no bearing on in-game action. As far as it pertains to the game, I don't care about it. I also don't care -- as it pertains specifically to the game -- whether someone drives drunk, for example. Prosecute them and do whatever you want legally. Then that's it. If you want to not re-sign them, that's fine, too. Firing someone for a domestic assault is ridiculous.

Seriously, if the Bills planted THAT on Brady that the Pats did to their QB, someone on Buffalo is getting suspended for the next 231412342343124324 seasons and the entire team is fined $1B.

The issue with Brady is that 95% of the time he's never in that position because all he ever throws are short slant passes. He generally doesn't "stretch the field." I'm talking about generally. Obviously there have been times when he's thrown long, like the entire season with Moss or random long bombs to Gronkowski. The problem is in 5% of games, where he's getting his ass beat, like everyone wants to see, that's when the refs all throw flags for breathing on him. So it's like no team can ever get to him, but the ones that do get penalized for it. Then it's a lot of masturbation about how he's the best to ever play. That's what pisses people off about the Patriots.

I have the same qualm. If is a "good of the game" issue their ability and popularity can trump off field issues, even bad ones. I wish it were more consistent. But with things like what Burfict did I think they will draw a clear line with on-field safety issues.

That hit was absolutely ridiculous, we all know that if someone hit TB12 like that the Pats fans would lose their frickin minds, so would the league I'm sure. Yet because he wears a Pats jersey he gets nothing not even a fine or ejection, what a joke

I think making an example out of Burfict will bring the issue to the top. Although the refs need to call it on EVERYONE and the league needs to take action on EVERYONE that does it. The hit that took out Williams, the hit that took out Allen, I think there was one in the Cowboys/Saints game... It is getting pretty sad. These helmet to helmet calls need to be reviewed for severity and ejections/suspensions need to be handed out. Also the flailing hand to the side of the helmet is not a personal foul, roughing the passer call. The league has gotten so soft on that call.
