I don't know if KC will win tonight, but Mahomes is awfully impressive.
Oh, and I'm going to score north of 160 points in fantasy tonight and I'm going to lose.

I'm over fantasy football this season.. Auto drafted Le'veon because I couldn't get decent wifi in time to make the first pick and Fournette has been a huge letdown due to injuries so far.

Amazing the throws he can make at full speed and still get it down field with a lot of accuracy. KC has got a good one on their hands. The way they looked last night, they seem like the team to beat this year.

I don't care if Mahomes finishes with 60 passing TDs, if KC's defense continues to be a dumpster fire (currently 25th in points allowed) they will not win the Super Bowl, let alone get there.
The play itself though, that was amazing. Instantly made me think of Favre, which annoyed me a bit. Thank God Pat is in the AFC.

I have to agree with Costco.
A good defense is an essential quality of a championship grade team.

A good offense is all good, but if your defense isn't up to the task you may make the playoffs but won't get far. When we beat Denver in the SB same scenario. Great D shut down what was a prolific offense, and once you do that, the wheels start to come off.

I mean you're right, the Chiefs offense is unreal. If they can keep up the pace and have healthy players come playoff time, they can still be contenders.
It's still early in the season too. I don't know much about their team. Things can change.
Mahomes is a really fun player to watch, and he has great weapons to work with. I just think an offensive shootout like last year's Super Bowl is an exception and not the norm.

We were probably about to trade for Earl Thomas but we know how that turned out.
Certainly I agree that having a poor defense is likely not a big success formula so let's hope our D gets better.
Next week will be a very nice challenge as the Jags come into town and we will see how the chiefs offense face up against a top tier defense

Jesus might change my team name from Torn ACL's to Fuck Tight Ends. Lost Delanie Walker then Will Dissly this week. Then I picked up Cam Brate off waivers but missed on Ebron and of course Brate is on a BYE. Settled for Austen Hooper

I'm having one of those FFB seasons that goes like this: Currently 0-4, but I have the second highest points total in a 12 team league. Also have the highest points against in the league by over 60 points.

This is why we dont play head 2 head. The team at the end of the the year with the most points has the best fantasy team

My co worker started one where you pick a team weekly to win. If that team wins you move on. IE; You pick KC over Denver you would move on, if you picked Denver you're done. It's their first year doing it so I don't know how it's going to turn out.

That's a good idea. It wouldn't really change what you do, becasue you are always angling to maximize points each week anyway. Might suggest that for next year.

Ya it never made sense that you could score 140pts and lose to someone who had 150pts while another teams wins their matchup with 70pts

Isn’t that how all football leagues work?

If outcomes mattered in fantasy you'd be drafting teams not players. Just like stats don't win you games in the NFL

I could see maybe a hybrid approach might use both ideas. If you have a 12 team league with two divisions, the top 2 from each division based on W/L record make it in - that keeps head to head valuable. The next two teams to make the playoffs are the two with the highest point totals and could come from either division.
Our challenge (and maybe it's that way for a lot of leagues) is keeping player interest. I can see if you just go on points, and some teams are just running away, you'd lose any hope of catching them at some point and you just stop trying. With head to head you have a chance. Also in our league, the bottom six play competitively during the playoffs for next year's draft order. So if you win the consolation bracket, you get 1st pick. We did that so teams in the consolation bracket wouldn't just try to lose.

When we used to do head 2 head this was the payout system (12 team $100 buy in)
1st $600
2nd $400
Highest Point Total $200 (regular season)
Now with straight up points
1st $700
2nd $400
3rd $100
1st $600
2nd $400
Highest Point Total $200 (regular season)
Now with straight up points

2nd $400
3rd $100

Someone on reddit posted: Colts will be without their #1 receiver, RB, TE, 2 starting tackles, 2 starting CBs. Their starting center and safety and a LB are questionable, vinateri questionable.
Looks like the Pats are just a wee bit favored in this game. Fire up your New England defenses?!

H2H... any given Sunday.
Doesn't matter if you have the #1 scoring offense and defense if come playoff time you get beat by a wildcard longshot team.
Likewise if you're busy and forget to set your lineups and lose. Or if your team just plain loses.
The highest points bonus is nice though. But it feels sorta like a participation award almost.

Remember that 2007 NFL season? A certain wild card team squeaked into the play offs and beat an undefeated team in the super bowl....who would've ever thought that other undefeated team could lose....

I think Brady also broke Vinny Testaverde's record by throwing a TD pass to 71 different receivers on that deep ball to Gordon.
