No sign of Bell yet. next tuesday is deadline? And he will basically forefit entire year worth of salary?

So can he be traded off season or what? Not sure how all this franchise tag thing works, but I assume Bell is holding out to get more money/bigger contract?

Well his plan backfired pretty badly.

His career is probably going to be on a steady decline. He has had just so many touches the last couple of seasons? Unless having that extra time off helps him like it did Marshawn.

Holdouts rarely work out for the player. I don't recall the last one to do this in the NFL...?

Cowboys are fucking awful.

I mean it is fucking embarassing (not to me because I know how bad they suck) to the team. Jason Garrett is a fucking pos head coach. He is still head coach only because Jerry likes a robot that does what he wants.

But for real. Down 7 points, punts with 1 min left, claps. Loses. In post game speech says 'we did some great things out there'. No, mother fucker. You fucking suck as a head coach. You should have been fired the year after you were hired... you are fucking awful. Jerry is the ONLY thing keeping you head coach. And Jerry is blind as a fucking bat to see you cannot coach.

Fuck it... I don't really watch cowboys games anymore cus they are boring and I expect to lose.. just voicing my opinion.

Jason Garrett is the greatest coach I have ever witnessed in the history of the entire NFL. My greatest fear as a Cowboys-hater would be if he was their coach for the rest of eternity. Jerry Jones would be lauded and credited with the inevitable Super Bowl wins if he kept Garrett, which, again, I would absolutely hate to see happen. They would need to build another stadium simply to house all the Lombardis to come. Please don't do it, Jerruh!

Even Belichick refers to Garrett as "daddy"

This year alone you had Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack cash in. Usually holdouts don't bleed into the regular season. Also thanks to the rookie scale, you don't see rookies really hold out anymore.

I swear, when AB goes...it looks like he's going 100mph.

Honestly, only thing I can think of...I did 156 on the same road. No need for a Porsche, did mine in a Ford...

Hmm, looking at that wing in the back...a GT3?

Man that's not bad at all for going 100mph in a 45mph and a $300 ticket. That's more than 2x the speed limit, in other jurisdictions probably lot worse punishment for that level of speeding...

Does it matter? To me (maybe you, others here) sure...but to a guy that makes millions...takes a helicopter to training camp...I'm sure it eas just a 10 minute inconvenience.

It's good to be the king. Sure hasn't effected his play today.

Holy shit

It's like the Steelers are a 280 lb professional athlete and the Panthers are a hapless 100 lb sorority sister cornered in a bathroom stall

Sometime...a beat down is a good thing. I'll take it in a short week. I didn't expect this...especially after mcaffery runs one in on first possession.

no, not talking about the little fines/ticket. Dude's gonna make more money in a year than 98% of us will make in our lifetime. Clearly a few measly dollar fines are not gonna touch him.

I was referring to more serious punishments....since many places if you are caught driving more than twice the speed limit it can bring pretty serious charges and potential hit to your driving privilege.

Sham Newton and the Carolina Punters got exposed. Wow that was fun to watch. Would be nice to see Big Ben get a ring.

Steelers looked for real last night, awesome effort all around, 21 points in the first quarter put that game nicely out of reach. Fun stuff!

Oh, and AB going 100 on McKnight, he's a jackass who only cares about himself

Andy Reid's teams do not show up for playoff games.
This coming from an Eagles fan.
They will win their division and lay an egg in the playoffs.

I have both Ben and McCaffery in fantasy - 8 TDs between the two of them. 84.6 points.

Regardless of how his teams play in the playoffs, the man deserves a ring. He's set as a HOFer coach already but a ring would 100% cement that. Man is a class act and his coaching tree is ridiculous.

But to the point of the chances of Reid/Chiefs making it deep into the playoffs....it's better chance this year than any. We've finally lost Checkdown Alex Smith and have a MVP-caliber QB in Mahomes. It will very likely be different this year. Chiefs have been mired in trash QB for decades so very refreshing to see Mahomes play lights out. Chiefs Kingdom is very excited for this season and the future.
Been a fan for almost 20 years and FINALLY we have a decent QB.

Although I wonder: did his extended time off made him more prone to injury? I read saints also wanted him to cut some lbs/weight...

Yay I started McCaffrey.

Sorry, but I don't at all feel sorry for Dez. He held out for the big bucks, everyone but him knew he wasn't worth it, he comes back and now this before his first game with his new team

I think the Steelers are doing just fine without him. Kind-of makes you wonder if it was Bell or the system that produced success. Wondering if he'll be as successful in another system....

Also worst fantasy draft pick ever.

lol oh yeah the steelers have no need for Bell. Looks like his time as a Steeler is done. I assume he will sign with another team next year?

This article seems to cover the options -

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/l...port-for-2018/

But it appears complicated with multiple scenarios. I think it's clear he moves on, but how and whether Pitt gets anything for it is probably up for debate. But what team is going to pay what he's asking for? Who spends franchise QB money on a RB these days?
