Still wish they would have moved to San Antonio.

The Bears gave up what to trade up one single spot?

PHILADELPHIA — The Bears drafted a quarterback — but paid a price.
Despite not inviting North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky to a private meeting, per the quarterback himself, the Bears traded four picks to move up one slot and draft the one-year starter Thursday nighThe Bears gave up picks 67, 111 and a third-rounder next year to move up one spot and draft Trubisky No. 2 overall in the 49ers’ spot.
The move is nothing short of a shocker. Bears GM Ryan Pace signed Mike Glennon, to a three-year, $45 million deal this offseason. Pace said he’d be the starter next season — and he might still be — but the Bears can part with him after one year for little financial penalty.

I'm always curious who signs off on a trade like that. Is it just the owner? GM? Or does a room of 20 personnel guys say ya that sounds like a good idea

before you fly off the fucking handle as you always do....,, the offered what they did, so ANOTHER team wouldn't get in front of them and select him.

T.J. Watt to the Steelers with the number 30 pick. Turns out Packers might of passed up a gem with T.J. but traded out of the First Round instead. T.J. Watt and Clay Matthews playing together could of been an devastading 1-2 combo, but the Steelers instead get a great player.
What do J.J,. Watt, Derek Watt and T.J. Watt have in common?
They all from Pewaukee, WI. they all played at WIsconsin and they all play in the NFL. JJ(Houston) Derek (San Diego) T.J. (Pittsburgh).

So, yes, I will "fly off my f*cking handle".

I believe Lynch/49ers confirmed that there was interest from at least one other team to trade into the #2 spot. But what sweetened the deal with Chicago was that trade allowed them to nab more picks, while still being able to get Thomas.
I honestly had no idea who this Beathard guy was, and was surprised to see the Niners pick him up especially so early. But after reading up on him, I can see why

Man, I was laughing so hard at the Bears when they made that trade. It seems like the kind of trade that older Browns front offices would have made, so I'm glad to see other teams doing it now. I read that John Fox didn't even know the team was going to draft Trubs until they basically made the pick.
I know everyone likes to think they "won" the draft, but I'm pretty happy with what the Browns did. I'm still not sold on Kizer, but with where they took him, if he doesn't work they have plenty of ammo to get a guy next year.

The Browns are in great shape and it seems like they now have a front office and coach that know what they're doing. They have two 1st rounders next year, and three 2nd rounders
I have always pulled for the Browns. Beating the dead horse here, but they went through so much unfortunate crap with the relocation and expansion team rebirth and all, really pulling for them now.

Well, they won't exactly be Super Bowl contenders next year, but they're filling in the roster with good players and not overreacting to things like past front offices have done. Every new regime seemed to come in with a "get rich quick" scheme, these guys are way more willing to follow the plan they had laid out when they were all hired, and more importantly, they're being given time to see it to completion.

^^I'm not a gambling man, but I really don't think that will happen.
Maybe when Theo Epstein gets another ring in Chicago he can go to the Browns.
Browns as was said shot themselves in the foot and only a really good management team can fix them.

Report: WR Josh Gordon's reinstatement denied by NFL | WBNS-10TV Columbus, Ohio | Columbus News, Weather & Sports

Oh that terrible weed addiction
CLEVELAND — Josh Gordon won't be back in the NFL anytime soon.
A person with knowledge of the decision tells The Associated Press that the Cleveland Browns wide receiver has been denied reinstatement by the NFL. The person, speaking Thursday on condition of anonymity because the decision has not been announced publicly, says Gordon can reapply for reinstatement in the fall.
Gordon has been suspended several times by the league, including the current ban for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He also was suspended for 10 games in 2014, then for the 2015 season, all for substance abuse violations.
Now 26, Gordon rejoined the Browns last summer, then entered a rehab facility in September. He appeared days away from returning to Cleveland's roster but voluntarily entered the facility, saying he wanted to "gain full control of my life and continue on a path to reach my full potential as a person." He completed a 30-day stay for an unspecified condition.
After leading the NFL in yards receiving in 2013, Gordon barely has played, getting into only five games in 2014.
Browns executive Sashi Brown said during the scouting combine 2 1-2 months ago that the team had contact with Gordon "just personally because we care for the young man." But coach Hue Jackson indicated early last season that the Browns had moved on from Gordon.
"What we need to do is just close that chapter right now," Jackson said last September. "He's doing what he needs to do, and we need to do what we need to do, which is continue to move forward."
The Browns still own Gordon's rights.

Not really news worthy but its kinda funny. Patriots always find a way to screw with Baltimore
Any interest that the Baltimore Ravens had in free-agent running back LeGarrette Blount was likely squashed because of a move made this week by the Super Bowl champions.
The New England Patriots exercised a little-known rule on Tuesday, which means any team signing Blount would lose a compensatory pick in the league formula. This would preclude the Ravens from signing last year’s NFL leader in rushing touchdowns if they don’t want to gamble forfeiting a projected third-round pick in the 2018 draft.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Patriots extended a one-year, $1.1 million tender (110 percent of last year’s salary) to Blount, an unrestricted free agent. By doing so, Blount would count toward New England’s compensatory draft picks if he signs elsewhere before July 22. After that date, he can only sign with the Patriots for the 2017 season.
The Ravens would represent a good fit for Blount. His bruising running style would complement Baltimore’s upgraded defense. But, as OverTheCap.com explains, the Ravens would put their projected third-round pick in jeopardy.
