If anyone can get the most out of Cutler, it's Adam Gase

I'm still glad it wasn't Kaepernick. At least Cutler can sling it, and we should finally see a real passing game for the first time since Marino. Hopefully Gase can get the best out of him again, and with a strong running game to lean on, maybe he won't have to force so many bad throws? Should be fun to watch at least, LOL.

One of the local writers at practice says Cutler's arm is one of the best he's seen since Marino. T-Hill is in the discussion as well.

For those in the know, what's the opinion of the MIA O-Line? Good? Bad? That may have a lot to do with Cutler's success.....

Eh... they gelled pretty well around the middle of last season, but that was mostly run-blocking, and there has been a bunch of turnover in the off-season, with some younger guys coming in. Could be a bit of a bumpy ride this year, especially early on.

Patriots reportedly purchase pair of 767 jets for travel

Local news said the purchase price was $10M each and likely another $10M each for customization.

I think the price is significantly north of that IMHO. You could not do more than rent a 767 for a year or two for $10M. Retrofitting an interior required re-certification with the FAA which is neither quick nor cheap as well. Custom paint jobs aren't either. Not that the point is worth arguing too much, but even a significantly used 767 is likely $50M and customizing and recertifying it could be half of that again. If they were in for ~$100-150M for the pair it would not surprise me.

Heard Cian Fahey who analyzes QB for ESPN said in Cutler's year with Gase, the system was more geared towards ball protection (less INT's) and short passes. Hopefully we have superior personnel around him but he had Marshall, Alshon, and Forte. Our OL is probably superior to theirs. He also said that Kap's skillset has improved and given Cutler's torn labrum might've been the better guy to go with. This will be an interesting season.

Absolutely - having your own jet is fun. I just kind-of at whoever reported it was ~$10M. You need big-boy money to buy a 767. Trump's custom 757 was in the $100-$150M range depending on what report you read.

I used to strongly feel it was mostly a skill thing, but I'm starting to really think Kaepernick is getting black balled. My tendency is to dismiss things that scream "SJW" but if he doesn't have a job by now, I don't think he ever will.

Even with season derailing injuries to starting QBs.

I agree but that's what the local news media was reporting -

Online media outlets are saying the two jets are long range 767s and used would go for between $5M and $65M each. A pretty sizeable gap there, don't you think?? The Patriots organization has obviously been quiet regarding costs. As Joneill44 has pointed out the Patriots have been very successful and profitable for years and Mr. Kraft was a successful businessman long before he bought the Pats. I'm sure they took a long hard look at this before moving forward and have plans to charter it when not in use by the team.
The Pats happen to be the first team to do this but I bet other teams will do the same. American Airlines in not renewing charters with several NFL teams, but is keeping them in place where there are hubs and NFL teams (Cowboys / Panthers / Eagles). So I guess this means Jerry won't necessarily have to try and one up Bob

Also just sharing some of the comments, jokes I read about this:

"So I guess they should be called AirKrafts"
"Hope they don't have trouble keeping the tires inflated"
"This isn't news, the Pats have owned the Jets for years"
"Nice tail"
"Hope they have set aside $$ for the tails to be repainted next year"

You get the idea.................

I don't think the NFL has enough moral fortitude to black ball a good player. I mean they've welcomed back convicted felons and people with video evidence of abuse - so long as they can play. Talent forgives all in the NFL.

I don't think Kaep's shenanigans last year deserve a lasting effect. I think he's just not talented enough anymore, or there is some combination of talent and lack of work ethic. Doesn't help he's is profoundly unlikable to boot. I mean Cuter beat him out of a job. Cutler.

Oh poor Kaepernick..., can't find a job. You had a job, you had a contract and walked way from it. Try being a better QB and learning a playbook, instead of someone telling you what the plays mean. And no business, in no industry wants your baggage. Like a team in a heavy Cuban descent area is going to hire you for praising a murderess dictator they fled from with their life.

Same as Jeff George. Immensely talented but just prone to that bone-headed mistake.

STILL...you have to wonder what Cutler's career was like if he didn't have a turnstile for OC and HC every year or so. It's too bad.

Honestly you can say that about way too many QBs, it is kinda f'up.

You could even lump in franchises to some degree with the number HC turnover. Most of them never really had a chance to implement their system/draft/FA

This is how Kaepernick must always be remembered in Miami:

Huh. Bills traded CB Ronald Darby to the Eagles for Matthews, and separately traded Watkins to the Rams for CB EJ Gaines, who is coming off a Lisfranc injury.

So basically, they traded an injury-prone WR and a healthy CB for a healthy WR and an injury-prone CB.
