Will Smith's car rear-ended Hayes' and fled before Hayes rear ended them and shot him.

Jesus. All this for road rage. Will driving up the dude's ass in an SUV (why do people do this) and Hayes pulls out a gun. Call the fucking cops man. You're driving a Hummer, not an old Buick that you can't afford to fix. Insurance man.

He did. The TSN article says that it was Hayes who called the cops after the hit and run. They just didn't get there fast enough.
I wouldn't be surprised if Will excited his vehicle and approached Hayes in an intimidating manner after Hayes chased him and struck his Benz. The guy may have been a "great person", but it takes a special breed to play a game as violent as football, and these guys are known to have tempers.
It will be interesting to hear what the witness has to say.

In 2006, legislation introduced by then state Rep. Eric LaFleur added the "stand your ground" provisions to Louisiana's castle laws. All previous castle law provisions remained in place.
After the bill passed and was signed into law by Gov. Kathleen Blanco, the new self-defense laws included multiple new provisions:
Any person "who is in a place where he or she has a right," including a public space, does not have an obligation "to retreat" if faced with a real or perceived threat and "may stand his or her ground and meet force with force."
During criminal court proceedings, a judge or jury can't consider the "possibility of retreat" as a factor in determining whether someone lawfully used force in self-defense.
No one acting in self-defense under these laws can be civilly prosecuted for the use of force, deadly or otherwise.
This language, almost identical to Florida's stand your ground law, was added to both the general use of force statute and the justifiable homicide statute. Lafleur, now a state senator, said the language was proposed by the National Rifle Association.

I have always heard that EVERYONE in NOLA is strapped, so you would think a citizen would proceed with caution. Like I said, it will be interesting what the witness says. It will also be interesting how the wife testifies. Regardless of the threat of perjury, I highly doubt she would inculpate her husband.

It came out that him living with Manziel was completely false.
Not that I was really counting on Gordon playing this year, but if the reports are true that the NFL has known for a month, why did no one else know until now? If he failed a test, he failed a test, there is no wiggle room, or data to be gathered. Instead the NFL jerked the Browns (and Gordon) around for a month and came up with some other ridiculous punishment.

True. Does anyone else find it a bit odd that a story leaks about Gordon living with Manziel just before the NFL announces he failed a drug test. Then once that story was debunked the NFL says that he can apply for reinstatement in 60 to 90 days instead of being banned for life per the CBA?

Johnny Manziel Reportedly Involved in Hit-and-Run, Picked Up by Josh Gordon
Then there's this video where he's obviously drunk: Johnny Manziel -- I Got a New Roommate | Celebrity Videos | TMZ.com
Out partying but not causing trouble. "You've seen me out here how many days in a row? 5, 6?" He justifies partying because he's been out partying for 6 straight nights getting shitfaced and hasn't gotten in 'trouble' yet. Wow. Fuck up to the highest fuck up.
Johnny Manziel Reportedly Involved in Hit-and-Run, Picked Up by Josh Gordon
Troubled quarterback Johnny Manziel was reportedly a passenger in a car involved in an alleged hit-and-run this past Saturday night at approximately 10:45 PT on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.
TMZ Sports reported the news Wednesday, indicating Manziel was picked up by former Cleveland Browns teammate Josh Gordon. TMZ added the car was reportedly driven by Manziel's good friend, Ryan Silverstein, whose vehicle struck a light pole.
The Los Angeles Police Department interviewed Manziel about the incident, per TMZ. The report also indicated Manziel and Silverstein fled the scene on foot and were picked up by Gordon before returning to the site of the accident, where witnesses recognized Silverstein as the driver.
Silverstein is being investigated for misdemeanor hit-and-run, per the report.
Although Manziel and Gordon aren't being accused of any criminal wrongdoing, per TMZ's sources, neither player's bid to return to the NFL gridiron would be helped by yet another unsavory off-field incident.

The luxury of having an established QB in this league. Rams gotta pay after Sam Bradford debacle and then the trade didn't work out for them. Mariota is as good as Steve McNair was they can build that team up again.

I find it strange how they basically showboated the 100 picks they got from Washington in the RGIII trade, only to do the exact opposite with the Titans

I think the rams pretty much had to make this move. they've been mediocre for quite a few years now, theyre a qb away from being a fairly solid team. Plus, with the change of location, drafting a potential franchise qb will draw a lot of ppl in... The goal is to win, not to be mediocre for a few more years.
Did they give up a lot? Yes they did, but its a risk I think they had to take.
Win-win for titans though, I doubt the rams are going to light it up this season so Titans will get middle of the pack picks next year from them plus the Titans will get a high pick themselves again. They have a gold mine of picks the next cpl years. Im pumped

They were supposed to check out at noon. Manziel was passed out. ... There was cocaine all over the kitchen table, and mushrooms were still out on the table in front of him. There was booze everywhere...broken glasses over the floor and a champagne glass in a tree. If they don't respond to our demand for compensation, we will sue.

We could waste this entire thread talking about that train wreck until it finally crashes. I vote we just quit posting about him.
