hard to say, in this NY Daily article sounds like the Mannings had axes to grind and went after her years after it happened while she was at a Florida College.

Like I said, I don't know what the real truth is. Can the Mannings be manipulative? Damn straight. But she doesn't do any credit to her case by changing the story.

Technically yes.
What I don't get is how Peyton could have done it slyly in the first place. Up on the table, then popped down off the table and forced a tossed salad? Was he nude when she was looking at his foot? Otherwise, the drawers would make it impossible without her knowing something was up (or down).
I've seen the dude on the field. He's just not that athletic.

“It was the gluteous maximus, the rectum, the testicles and the area in between the testicles,” Naughright says. “And all that was on my face when I pushed him up and off. And it was like this and as I pushed him up to get leverage. I took my head out to push him up and off.”
Either she was laying down and he sat on her face, or she was checking for hemorrhoids, and he leaned back. Either way, that is a freaking hilarious description.

Just read the SI piece, New details revealed in Manning litigation with ex-Tennessee trainer | SI.com, and this makes much more sense. She was examining his foot, and he mooned her. As with almost any mooning, she saw his rectum, taint, and scrotum.
He sexually assaulted her by way of mooning.

If she were a real doctor she'd have used the phrase "taint".
Anyone figured out why this is coming up now, other than a desperate grab at 15 minutes of fame before no one cares anymore?

She was supposedly kneeling down examining his foot while he was sitting on an exam table, feet not touching the ground. How quickly would he have to get down and pull his pants down and basically sit on her head (either way he was facing)?
It's all...weird.
The reason it comes up is because UT is under serious Title IX investigation for how it's Athletic Department has been treating people.

And while the allegations against them are very serious and need real investigation, I can't help but feel like everyone at UT at the time of Peyton's prank was just laughing at her and rightfully so.

I think trying to spin some college kid mooning someone into sexual assault is a huge stretch. I mean if he shoved his butt into her face, then yeah he probably owes her an apology but if they settled this out of court back then, it should be over and done.
Unless she got pink-eye or something.

I don't know if it official yet, but sorry to see him go if it winds up being true. With that said, he has been hampered with lots of injuries over the past few seasons and hasn't been the player he once was.

It's OK to sniff a little at the work of Shaun King, the New York Daily News senior justice writer who dusted off a story that was in the public record for 15 years, gussied it up without doing any new reporting or even carefully representing the facts and reinjected it into the news cycle during the post-Super Bowl lull.
It's OK to think that this old scandal only has fresh legs because it helps fill midday sports-talk segments and sports-in-society editorial think pieces. It's OK to believe that trying to determine "what really happened" 20 years ago, after a pair of legal settlements, is a waste of time and energy.

Read the SI piece. It was saying that they went after her because she broke the non-disclosure agreement.

I did see this and his former teammates letter to him is pretty interesting.
How Tennessee?s Sexual Harassment Allegations Caught Up With Peyton Manning 20 Years Later
The reason I found this kinda amusing is the clean-cut image of Manning and not the initial incident (which seemed on par for UTN football program) but the follow-up response in 2003.
Still think Manning is a overall good guy, but I find it even more amusing how the press and NFL commissioner vilified some players (Brady, ...) while ignoring others (Lewis,...).

I read it but what was hard is another SI writer co-wrote Manning's book so it's hard to believe there was no conflict of interest there.

It seems to me she had a clear grievance to make with the university over these incidents, for which she got $300K. Seemed over and done with and everyone moves on, until Manning was stupid enough to comment on it in his book, which compels her to sue for defamation. She was only asking for $15K, so it's not like she was after a huge money grab. But I suspect that by settling she had to agree with cover-up language that protected the university and the athletes, and calling her out in the book was most likely to her, way out of line. Don't blame her for hitting back.
I don't think Manning did anything other than act like a stupid, entitled college kid in a brief moment where he lacked good judgement. Lots of college kids moon people. They are just not famous enough for anyone to care. And the fact that Manning is the focus now is just a lame attempt by journalists to hype their own stories.
I think the real story likely surrounds the systemic issues and patterns of behavior and cover up at UT.

Fucking douche. Reading the girl's testimony is sickening. The truth may be in the middle, but you can't make all of that up. I have zero support of or respect for boys who hit women, children, or elderly.
