Another week and nothing of substance has happened. Conjecture abounds ranging from suspension remains intact and Brady will take to the court system to suspension lifted and Brady agrees to pay a nominal fine.
Supposedly there has been some negotiating happening and depending on who you believe Goodell is being pressured/influenced by four team owners. Some say Goodell has painted himself into a corner, will leave everything in place and allow the court systems to overturn. Doing it that way, Goodell saves face (whatever is left) and no one is blamed.

Hahaha. This might be funny (might) if the Pats were actually in training camp. They don't start until Thursday

This is going to get ugly.
also can someone clarify the HOF speech thing with Seau's family? Apparently family members aren't allowed to give speeches but the NFL said they'd allow his family to do it but they backed out?

So, we know Brady gets really hissy-fitty if he gets even touched in the pocket. How hissy-fitty will he be if his balls are extra hard AND he gets touched...?!?!??
He just may blow!

NFLPA Statement on Tom Brady's Four-Game Suspension

NFLPA STATEMENT ON TOM BRADY'S FOUR-GAME SUSPENSION
The Commissioner's ruling today did nothing to address the legal deficiencies of due process. The NFL remains stuck with the following facts:
The NFL had no policy that applied to players;
The NFL provided no notice of any such policy or potential discipline to players;
The NFL resorted to a nebulous standard of "general awareness" to predicate a legally unjustified punishment;
The NFL had no procedures in place until two days ago to test air pressure in footballs; and
The NFL violated the plain meaning of the collective bargaining agreement.
The fact that the NFL would resort to basing a suspension on a smoke screen of irrelevant text messages instead of admitting that they have all of the phone records they asked for is a new low, even for them, but it does nothing to correct their errors.
The NFLPA will appeal this outrageous decision on behalf of Tom Brady.

Not according to the legal experts like Roger Cossack. And I quote, 'unlikely.'

It would be nice if Brady won at least in part, to get that buttmonkey out of the Commissioner chair. But I don't see it happening.
NFLPA always bitches and complains about every single thing, but keeps approving the arbitration process every damn time. Morons.

Clearly a witch hunt on Brady for publicly being defiant to the league. NFL has no consistency whatsoever. Le'Veon Bell's DUI went from a 3 to a 2 game suspension. And Greg Hardy gets his suspension reduced to 4 since the victim didn't testify rather than having it removed altogether? Blah Blah Tom Brady....cheated because every scientist outside of Wells proved it was BS. Pats win those playoff games 10 out of 10 times. Welp suspend Aaron Rodgers who admitted to ball "tampering", take away Jerry Rice's rings since he admitted to using stick'em. I can care less about Brady, but if that's your QB on your favorite team, you'd be pissed too. So yeah it will happen to your team soon at this rate.

Brady acted stupidly. He could have been humble, apologized, and admitted he made an honest mistake (which would have been plausible), and I bet he'd be down to 2 games. He got 4 games for basically being an ass and locking horns with the NFL.
But I guess we all don't know what's going on behind the scenes - what's being said in e-mails and phone calls. But I think it's fair to say that something Brady or his agent is saying is pissing off Goodell. I think it's on them for making this worse than it had to be.
And it's never been an issue about whether the deflated balls gave the Pats an edge. Absolutely true it had no bearing on the outcome. The issue here is purely about Brady taking a public position on a cheating issue that has absolutely no plausibility, and then digging in his heels.
He's not likable enough to play the victim and get wide spread public sympathy.

^True but why does Goodell's vendetta have to set precedent for the rest of the league. If Russell Wilson was found guilty of that this season, do you want him to miss 4 games too? Then when he gets less because it's not a personal vendetta, the rest of the league cries WTF. You see the inconsistency there? It's scary.
