College football is shit, for 90% of the players what they do in college doesn't mean shit for the NFL. I remember damn near everybody saying, do not pick JR because he won't do anything in the NFL. Seems many were right, take off your purple and gold shaded glasses.

the fact remains.. nothing he did in college forewarned anyone of his crappy stint in Oakland.. he was 10-2 and 11-2 as a starter...

also, his shitty NFL career had nothing to do with his abilities not transferring well from college.. he got lazy and fat and didn't give a fuck.

the talent and arm were there.. just not the desire to use/better them.

and I'll wear my purple and gold underwear if need be.. tigers are #1 in the land

You just don't get fat and lazy, it's a part of you.

As a USC fan, this reminds me of Matt Leinart who had a great college career and was supposed to do big things in the NFL, but obviously that didn't work out. I think there is a huge learning curve when transferring into the NFL and some guys get it, while others never do. Agreed that having a great college career doesn't mean you'll be great in the NFL.

If only Chicago had any receiver somewhere in the same orbit as Calvin Johnson.

Calvin Johnson is a beast. If he gets 4 touchdowns I will win my fantasy match.

Dude, I know your view is tinted (tainted), but there were people who said run, don't walk, away from drafting him. He got the nickname Duhmarcus long before he arrived in Oakland.

Your Eagles are supposed to win the Superbowl and go undefeated.

Oh nice. We can add no defence to go with the no-O-line-and-WRs for the Bears.

Someone pass Jerry Angelo et al a memo that they need to field a whole team, please.

When do the warm-ups stop and the Bears take the field?

The score did not fairly reflect the beating the Bears took.

Yup. That's the worst O-line in football...

And seriously, you can call Cutler many things: but, don't ever question his toughness. Ever.

it's so weird for me to root for the lions. I've been a vikings fan for a while, but I also have a strong penchant for the underdog teams, and the story the Lions is writing is amazing. Helps too that I have Stafford on my Fantasy team, I and I probably hate the bears more than any other of the vikings rivals (including GB). I finally gave in to playing fantasy since I knew the Vikes were going to struggle this year. At least they finally got their first win, but the North is looking like the toughest division in the league.

I understand your point, but the same could be said about many high profile QB's.. including cam newton.. it's a game of chance.
some if the best QBs in the league were drafted low.. some of the worst were drafted first.. that's how it works.

he was in fact a huge dissapointment though..
it does take smarts to be at the QB position, and he was certainly not the brightest...
