NCAA Football: 2018 Season News and Discussion Thread
The Aggies start this year with back-to-back two week dooseys.
Take one unknown team from Louisiana to beat up on, then follow it with #2 Clemson who is said to possibly have the first D-line ever. In the history of college football ever.
Then take another unknown Louisiana team to beat up on, and follow them with #1 Alabama.
If we can play those four games well, we may be the highest ranked two-loss team for a while. Maybe we’ll even steal one.

This is the friendliest “rivalry” I’ve ever been a part of. I guess that’s what happens when a conference chooses for you.

I wasn’t surprised at all that LSU whipped Miami last night. I think I was more surprised at how many analysts picked Miami.

Damn, Alabama with Tua holding the reigns is scary. Anyone familiar with Alabama the past two years knew Jalen Hurts couldn’t throw the ball. He was there to add to their rushing attack which opened up their passing game. Rush first, control the game, and only pass when you need to.
The Aggies held Alabama to 109 rushing yards on Saturday. Last year Damien Harris put up 124 out of their 280 rushing yards, and we only lost by 8!
I don’t know who is going to beat them as long as Tua is healthy and on the roster. I’m thinking they will have to beat themselves. I wouldn’t even give Clemson 10 points against Alabama today.
Supposedly Saban said this year, “we’re gonna score 42. Can you?” Well, Isaiah Buggs is 6’5 287, and he looks pretty small next to Raekwon Davis, so .

Boggles my mind how Texas is ranked #7
I think A&M should be ranked higher than #17.. higher than Kentucky who we beat, higher than Washington who also has 2 losses (Pac 12 is a joke), higher than NC State who has played nobody.

What are you talking about? Texas is BACK!
The rankings clearly aren’t about which team is most likely to win any given matchup. Rankings are about past achievements and your perceived ability to win a NC. If your whole program doesn’t show a propensity to win regularly, you won’t climb the rankings, regardless of who you are now.
The committee does it differently, and I don’t recall as many objections to their rankings compared to the AP/Coaches polls. I look forward to their opinions, because I agree. I think we easily beat half the teams ahead of TAMU, and not one of them stands a chance against Bama. MAYBE LSU does because of their secondary, but forget anyone else. (I’ll admit I don’t know about ND.)

Hopefully Sternberger just had an off game and isn’t ahowing why he couldn’t make it at Kansas.
His mom walked out of the bleachers in disgust after his second or third drop.

What a mother fucking game.
I was surprised when I saw we were projected to win... but knowing A&M, I also projected us to fall apart in the end and lose.
As soon as Mond threw the pick with mins to go in the 4th, I turned it off and was like 'fuck it.. same old shit'. Then I got a text from a friend 30 min later like 'this game is amazing'. I was like what game? He said the A&M game. I was like what????? Yeaa.. so he mentioned his knee was down and I rewound the dvr to that point and watched it from then on.
Fucking cray cray. I love how LSU did the gatorade bath only to lose . Hard fought game by both teams.

I asked my LSU alum coworker if he took a Gatorade bath halfway through the game too.

Well, there you go. Trevor Lawrence is a better QB than Tua, and Clemson is a better team than Alabama. That was a defensive masterpiece, and considering they scored 44, that is saying A LOT.
Congrats, Clemson! The Aggies and Jimbo will be there in September to ruin Trevor’s Heisman campaign.

I haven't watched any Clemson games this year and had only watched part of one Alabama game. I was worried for Alabama with how weak their schedule seemed to me at least. That said I never saw that outcome coming. I figured Clemson easily had a shot to win but didn't expect it to be in the dominant performance that they put on. Congrats to Clemson that was one hell of a show. Trevor Lawrence is going to be hard to beat for the next two years.

I thought both had weak schedules. But I certainly didn't expect this result. Although I'm sure everyone around the country is thrilled Alabama is no longer top dog.. at least for another season.

I didn't really care who won, just wanted to watch a great championship game. Holy Crap!! I actually felt bad for the Tide and Saban. That was a royal ass-kicking!!
