Enjoyed every last episode in The Last Dance. I have so much more appreciation for MJ and what he accomplished. I wonder how many more championships the Bulls could have if there was no Pippen migraine game, MJ retirement, Bulls renegotiated Pippen's contract and kept the team together. Although Jordan was pretty burnt out after the first 3 peat already and needed that 45 ain't 23 to fuel him back.

Isn't much better (theoretically safer) to host it in a place that is hot and dry(CA, AZ or NV) than a place that is humid?
Actually i take that back.. i vote for North Dakota since they dont have enough cases there...

IMO, it should be based on their current standing, any team that have a realistic chance to either get in or get out of the play off to have a NCAA style 1 game tournament... you get 1 shot at making the play off and you either in or you are out...
For play off, instead of best of 7, it should be best of 3...
it is not realistic to expect #11 seed or whatever the actual # is in the west to win every game and not lose 1 for the remaining of the regular season to make the play off. The same as if #3 seed to lose every game and not win 1 to not make the play off.

The NBA's board of governors intends to approve a league proposal on a 22-team format to restart the season in Orlando, Florida, sources told ESPN.
The conference call and vote is set for 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, sources said.
Commissioner Adam Silver and the league's advisory/finance committee have shared the broad details of a plan with teams to play at The Walt Disney World Resort, sources said. The plan includes 13 Western Conference teams and nine Eastern Conference teams, eight regular-season games, a possible play-in tournament for the eighth seed, and playoffs, sources said.
The top 16 teams in the Eastern and Western conferences will be joined by teams currently within six games of eighth place in the two conferences -- New Orleans, Portland, San Antonio, Sacramento, Phoenix and Washington, sources said.
The play-in tournament will include the No. 8 and No. 9 teams -- if the ninth seed finishes the regular season within four games of the eighth, sources said. In that case, the No. 8 seed enters a double-elimination tournament, and the No. 9 seed a single-elimination tournament, sources said.
Teams will begin training at team sites in July and advance to full training camps in Orlando in July, sources said.
Life in the NBA bubble will be governed by a set of safety protocols. While players and coaches will be allowed to golf or eat at outdoor restaurants, they will also need to maintain social distancing, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
Likewise, employees at the Disney resort will have to maintain similar protocols. For example, no staff will be allowed into players' rooms, and hallways will be carefully managed to avoid crowding, sources told Shelburne.
The NBA suspended its season on March 11 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ten years ago, ESPN aired The Decision, a controversial live prime time special in which NBA free agent LeBron James announced he would leave his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers and join forces with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat. The criticism of James and ESPN was immediate, harsh and widespread.
The behind-the-scenes developments that led to The Decision, the far-reaching consequences of the telecast and its legacy for a new era of player empowerment will all be examined in the new episode of Backstory, the ESPN documentary series featuring the investigative reporting of three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Don Van Natta, Jr. The series brings new reporting and fresh perspectives to some of the most intriguing stories and characters in sports history.
Backstory: The Decision premieres Sunday, June 28, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN, ahead of the 10-year anniversary of the July 8, 2010, airing of the polarizing yet ground-breaking announcement that remains the most-watched studio show in ESPN history with nearly 10 million viewers. With James now one of the most powerful voices in sports, and particularly outspoken on matters of racial and social justice, Backstory: The Decision reveals how the live special developed into what it became and examines its profound influence over the past decade.
“Our new Backstory episode explores the unlikely way The Decision was created, the reasons why it was done despite the risks and the tensions about it behind the scenes,” said Van Natta, who joined ESPN in 2012. “And despite all the criticism that LeBron James and ESPN received, the one-hour show had a far-reaching impact on LeBron and his inner circle while beginning a trend of star athletes telling their own stories through their own media and production companies. LeBron’s experience on The Decision was the launching pad for his own shows sold to multiple networks and helped him sharpen his voice on a wide array of important issues beyond the basketball court.”
In doing his reporting for Backstory, Van Natta learned new details and information that will be revealed in the one-hour program, including:
Among others interviewed on camera:
Backstory debuted in August of 2019 with “Serena vs. The Umpire,” followed in January of this year with “Banned for Life*.” Subjects and airdates for additional episodes of Backstory will be announced later.

In doing his reporting for Backstory, Van Natta learned new details and information that will be revealed in the one-hour program, including:
- The original idea for The Decision came from a surprising source not connected to either James or ESPN.
- The show actually started taking shape months earlier than previously known.
- Former NBA Commissioner David Stern urged ESPN to cancel the show and former ESPN president John Skipper says Stern was concerned the show would extend too much power to one player.
- The preparation James did for The Decision in the hours leading up to the broadcast.
Among others interviewed on camera:
- Buzz Bissinger, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of two bestselling books on LeBron James.
- Michael Wilbon, co-host of ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption and NBA studio analyst.
- Vince Doria, former ESPN vice president and director of news.
- Chris Broussard, NBA Insider for ESPN at the time of The Decision and current analyst for Fox Sports.
- Scott Raab, the author of two books on LeBron James.
- Bomani Jones, ESPN commentator.

The Decision.
Synopsis: Where 3 superstar players colluded to sign in Miami before the "act" of showing "interest" to other teams so they can be wined and dined for free. NBAism for swindling free hotel stays, limo rides, and meals.![Nod](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif)

What could've been. Him and Butler. And now, Bulls are...yeah. At least the overhauled management with some competent/reputable personnel.

i mean otherwise, it is almost inevitable that at least 1 of them would get infected during the games from outside contacts and that will quickly spread and end all the games again...

Maybe they can do a thing of last team standing wins....which ever team has the most amount of players + staff who are covid negative wins the championship. Every other team will have players + staff quarantined out....lol

Sports like tennis? Sure. But, yeah, these team sports...I just don't see how it can work. Dunno, maybe we just stop testing and well, the pandemic goes away, right?

Personally, I think it's a bad idea...esp. for things that involve close contact like basketball, hockey, and football (both types).

No man...even in NA football, at the line, there's lots of close contact...when they are lining up too before the snap. It's too close.

Or how about this......let's have massive covid parties.
Infect everyone. Those who are left standing are now immune and can play and hangout all over each other.
After all, if you can't even stand a little coronavirus, do you even deserve to be in the running for NBA champion?
