Cuban announced #24 will be retired in Dallas in honor of Kobe. I'm expecting other teams to do something similar.

I'm so upset about his daughter passing. She had such a bright future. I hate to see any child go early but seeing the numerous pics and clips makes it hurt more especially that my daughter is her age.

I am sick to my stomach. Gone way to soon. He had so much to accomplish still. Heartbreaking about the kids as well.

I can’t imagine how the families are feeling.

the 2 kids lost their mom dad and sister

vanessa and her 3 other children lost a husband/father and a daughter/sister...

Has anyone heard how the copter went down? I heard visibility issues...

With the amount of false reporting that went around yesterday its probably best to wait until the official report comes out

I would agree. The reporting was horrible but expected when all media sources want to be the first to report. It did look rather foggy and close to the hills. I wouldn't be surprised if there was any updrafts that threw it into a spin. Hate to think of the emotions going on in the helicopter seconds before.

My co-worker's parents were eating lunch in that area and they said they didn't see much fog but who knows

That's been seen as the main issue. He was flying low, couldn't see, and tried to climb. The flight path along with, I guess its altimeter readings, was on a public, flight tracking site.

Unlike any other athlete or celebrities, his death feels very personal... My GF who does not even watch NBA started to cry when we heard the news and she doesnt even know why.

Bryant was a large part culturally for many growing up as he was like MJ in his impact beyond just basketball due to his accolades and success, I think.

The abruptness of the accident and well, the loss of his daughter too as well probably was impactful.

I didn't fully understand the reason for the players going harder other than charity money. I saw something about points in a quarter as well.

Glad my boy Airplane Mode won. What a contest between those two. Even Dwight with his signature Superman dunk and Pat C. with this White Men Can't Jump presentation were no match for these mighty studs. Many thought Aaron should've won.
